I am hoping someone here can give me some assistance. I have a 23 Lariat that was built at the end of 22. Like everyone else who got one in that wave the heated steering and scales were removed. I got the CSP for adding the heated steering back in.

After some run around with my local shop (a whole separate story) the CSP was completed yesterday. I tried it out on the way home and nothing seemed to work. Read some stuff online that it is based on ambient temps. Thought to myself maybe 50 isn't cold enough for it to work. Went out this morning when it was 34 and tried again. Sat in the truck (with it on) for about 7 minutes, long enough for my seat to get nice and toasty, but the steering wheel never warmed up. Turned the wheel off and on, but nothing seemed to work.

I called my dealer this morning and after getting more run around the service manager pulled my window sticker and said 'Oh it says here the heated steering was removed. You probably don't even have the right steering wheel and Ford sent you the CSP as a mistake.' I explained to him that every other person I know with a 23 Lariat got the CSP and they haven't (for the most part) had any issues. He wanted to know if any of them would be willing to share their VIN number so he could confirm the sticker was the same as mine.

So if anyone here has a MY23 Lariat that was built late 22 or early 23, if you are willing to DM me your VIN I would appreciate it. If no one is comfortable I understand. And no taking it to a different dealer isn't an option, unless I want to drive 2 hours out of town.
Thanks everyone.

Mine is also '23 delivered in late '22. I had the CSP done a few weeks ago and the heated steering wheel is working just fine, even when it's 50 degrees. Ask yourself. Is it more likely that Ford send you CSP in error, or your service guy is a blithering idiot?

If I remember correctly there are 2 parts to this. Replace the requisite module and enable heated steering in FDRS. Since you now have the ability to turn the feature on, it sounds like the did #2 but not #1. Or the module used was defective.

Oh I have already asked and answered. However I am now stuck where I am trying to do what I can to get my truck working the way it should.

Is your screen saying that it is on? I know some people said that they couldn't turn them on (assuming that the dealership didn't properly code the modules to enable it)

It sounds like they updated the software with installing the required hardware. What does your work order show they did?

Installed Bolt and Washer ASY-PAN
Installed Housing ASY - STEERING CO
Replace SCCM and enable the heated steering wheel option

My Lariat ER is a 2023 and I took delivery 12/15/22 (10/14 build week I think). Had my CSP for this done about two months ago and it definitely works. Works great actually. Have to turn it off sometimes because my hands get too warm. Heats up in less than 30 seconds if I didn't have a departure time already set to warm things up.

Mine went in for CSP, came out with new steering wheel icon to turn it on and off.

That sounds correct. I was going to compare it to mine, but I can’t find the darned thing.

First brought my 23 in in October for the recall and CSP issues. 2 days just to roder parts of course. Back in again early November. Only parts in were for rear pight bar. HSW on hold via Ford. No word from the dealer so I called last week. Nothing. Told, your get a notice in the mail when the parts come in. Not sure if I'm going to even need the HSW by time it gets figured out. Still dint understand why some are getting parts and the GSW is working and others no luck.
