This was the straw that broke the camel's back. And it is important to call out Ford as it tries to fabricate the reasons for the Lightning's demise. 100% of it rests squarely on Ford's shoulders.

This needs a TLDR (or TLDW) version.
Sorry for the length but too much to cover. Based on the comments, those who have watched it get why I had to cover all of it to give a picture of what unfolded.

And he didn’t even mention the high rate of battery module failures.

Watched the video, and while I agree with most of it, there's not a lot new there that wasn't already said on this forum and elsewhere.

Frustrated to once again be in a place where a very good (not perfect, but very good) piece of engineering is hindered and squandered by the company that makes it. GM failed my former Volt (and Voltec drivetrain) in so many ways, not the other way around. Ford failed the Lightning, not the other way around.

The EREV misadventure is a decade and a half late, and another blunder that will result in further billions of dollars of wasted spending.

I won't be buying Ford again. Even firing flip flop Farley wouldn't be enough to get me to set foot in a Ford dealer ever again (after my warranty is up).

A) FORD is the manufacturer... of an amazing machine

B) Ford DEALERS are independent and make decisions based on their own business reasons...which may not correlate with FORD's desires, or expected outcomes... sadly.
Some seem to be VERY intent on good customer experience, while others, not so much.

TESLA is different: it is the Manufacturer and the DEALER, all in one. It controls the whole aspect from marketing, manufacturing, warranty, work, and sales...

it's similar to my discussion with my wife about her offer of Dental and Vision 'benefits' from her employer - with a monthly premium, versus forgoing insurance and just paying cash...
she's starting to realize that just because she has an insurance plan, and goes to an 'in network' dentist or vision center for the maximum benefits/lowest out-of-pocket,, they sometimes act as if her insurance plan doesn't do anything different than if she had just paid cash...or, maybe would even have been LESS with cash. Crazy annoying. And, I'm an insurance agent. : /

Thanks for watching and for the support! I know it was long, but I had a LOT to cover.
Well worth the time, and you explain it in a very easy way to understand. As always very well done.
BTW, liked the snow blower vid.

Wow. A lot of background I didnt know. I love the lightning and always tell people it’s the best vehicle of any kind I’ve ever driven. In general I’ve had a good experience with the dedicated ford EV support people. They mailed me a free FCSP, sent me reimbursement for $700 for the electrician who installed it and replaced my malfunctioning one with a new one. The truck is amazing and is capable of so much. It’s just disappointing for a company to take a vehicle that good, screw it up and then cancel it. It’s sad really. Up until this purchase I’d stayed away from Ford bc I didnt like what they produced but was willing to give them a chance with this vehicle. It’s too bad. This truck was good enough to convert me. I didnt believe the reports that the lightning would be cancelled bc it’s just too good of a product. I trusted ford and was let down. I know I won’t trust them or their independent dealers for the near future. I do trust Tesla though even though their cybertruck is butt ugly. I suppose I’ll drive this truck well after It’s paid off next year and hopefully when the time comes when i need another vehicle, hopefully tesla will have a better looking all electric truck. No way I’m going back to gas stations and I love driving a truck in Texas.
