I love my 2023 Lariat ER. Wouldn’t change a thing. The competition at the time was the R1T and while very attractive, the Lightning won me over for what may be minor reasons (or not applicable to some): local dealer support (can be hit or miss across the nation), support for what the consumer chooses for phone connectivity (ie not banning CarPlay), and ultimately I think the Lightning drives better and feels better. Ford has it right with the drive options with and without 1-pedal.

We were limited to used cars because we don’t qualify for the credit, and I’m not willing to take a 5 figure hit on day 1.

Our ideal vehicle is the R1S. But no CarPlay was a big drawback for us and the driver autonomy platform lacking was what kept us away. The backup camera was improved for the new gen, but again, I’m not willing to take a hit on the depreciation, so I’m a few years out from that being an option.

I prefer the software in the Model Y, and the better efficiency, but my wife wanted something bigger.

In all, the lightning checks all the boxes. It’s not perfect but it’s a great ride. Added bonus for being able to use it as a home backup. I was already in the market for that.

I wouldn't change a thing. 2 years in and still love the truck. I paid more than I would have a year later, but the price of fuel counteracted that so no regrets. I have no desire to change it out for anything on the market today.

Just picked up our brand new 24 Flash. Had the MME Performance and loved it.
White Lightning is the best vehicle of our lifetimes. We're old. :)

Bought a dealer’s demo 23 Lariat ER with about 2 or 3 thousand miles on it. 3rd F150. Absolutely love it. Best vehicle I’ve owned

If I had to do it again, I'd probably do it exactly the same.

I bought a new '23 pro ER with the Max Tow Package last year and love it. The out the door price with Tax, Title and License was 43K (l bought from a fleet dealership my company has a huge contract with so got it cheap).

I really enjoy the basic interior. I have 4 kids at home including an autistic one who has impaired motor control so being able to just wipe everything off and not worry over the interior is awesome.

I got a spray in bed liner, %15 ceramic tint all around and %25 on the windshield. With the Oxford white and the basic matte black trim, it looks sharp.
It's a price and trim I can live with. I don't freak out when I load it up with landscape stone, downed tree limbs, trash for the dump or helping a friend move. Exactly what I believe a truck is for.
The range, power and driveability are first rate. So, for $43,000, I couldn't be happier.

Received my 23 Lariat ER in May 2023. I have a long history of owning F150's and this has been the cream of the crop for my uses.

I have a great dealer service dept. The truck is 7000 lbs per the scale at the county dump. This weight makes ot fantastic in snow and ice on our 800‘ windswept driveway. Munch better than our 2013 F150. If I had it to do over, I would check out Rivian but probably would end up with a Lightning.

sw engineering manager,
I bought a '22 Pro SR with Max Tow and Tow Tech. About $46k sticker. If it gets totaled, I would want the same thing at the same price. But its no longer available at that sticker price and they have changed what options are needed to get the brake controller which is the only thing I wanted from Tow Tech... So would have some decisions to make.

I would pay for the ER battery, but would not pay to upgrade the trim level to get it.

I would take the below deal in a heartbeat if I had to replace my '22:

I definitely should have hung onto my last car until this year, at the very least. Between the 0% 72-month financing and the Flash edition, it's an absolute no-brainer in every dimension.

I can only imagine the pain those who picked up before me [Nov 2023] are feeling or going to feel, as it may go in history as one of the worst depreciating new vehicles in modern history. Between early price gouging, price changes, insane interest rates, lack of clarity on leasing deals, varying rebates by state/income, and unknown resale. Not to mention the competition that has arrived since and is planned to arrive in the very near future.

Don't get me wrong, the product is ok, but seeing how it played out, it could have been so much better.

I bought my platinum at the lowest price I've ever seen them, so I wouldn't change a thing.
Only thing I regret is that I thought Ford was way further ahead in how they do OTA updates and the priorities the software goes. As of today, 3 years later it is just a gong show. Nobody knows what version their modules are on, Nobody knows when they will get an update. Some trucks are stuck with 2 year old software and don't even know it. There is no manual "update now" button like every other software platform, and then we get stuff like Karaoke over the plethora of stuff they've been promising for years (ie. bluecruise updates, propower with truck off, drive modes that stick, etc.). I was going to get a Mach-E for my wife but if I don't start seeing Ford get their act together, software wise, with my lightning, it will be my last Ford vehicle. The rest of the truck has been fantastic though so maybe I'm being a bit harsh but software has become that much of a priority in the auto industry.

As for getting a truck based on what my kids think is cool... Yeah. NO!. Sales of the CT have tanked for a reason. There are countless videos showing why the CT is not a truck and how many issues there are. Although my kids may be laughing with me, I know the adults would be laughing at me. To each their own I guess.

I’d buy a Bronco Raptor, get that out of my system for a year… damn they look fun. Then I’d buy a Lightning, same trim I have now. Hopefully they’d have worked out some of the kinks by then too. I’m fairly sure my 2022 Lariat ER just developed a bad battery module or two. Still need to take it in and get diagnosed.
They're giving those Bronco Raptors away these days.... they're all just sitting on dealer lots getting suntans.

I don't think I would change anything. While I guess I could have waited and gotten a higher spec'ed used Lariat for about the same price as what I paid for my Pro, my Pro was also brand new and I got to use it for the past year and a half.

I'd never go with a Cybertruck cause the price is too high and I want to be able to do actual truck things. The silverado looks decent, but too expensive for me. My Pro does everything I need it to do and I've added in all the functionality that I would have wanted from the higher spec'ed trims anyway (aside from the ER battery)
