I'm Back!!!

My last post was at the end of June when I had to cancel my order the end of June because of a .... well, it's a long story. See the thread for 1/30/2023 build week. When I last posted I had cancelled after a 7 month wait because the dealer couldn't sell me my truck, even though it was sitting on the lot 10 feet away from me.... (Safety recall -- light bar.) but fast forward six weeks and the dealer was able to obtain the part and will have the truck available to sell to me Monday. They made some reductions in price making me an offer I can't refuse.. so with luck this (3rd, 4th?) time, I expect to drive off the lot Monday or Tuesday with the Lariat I ordered last December. So, I'm back and hope to join the discussion again.

I just hit my 1 year anniversary and I have to say that my Lightning is hands down the best vehicle I've ever owned. You're going to love it.

Congratulations on finally getting your Lightning! You went through h*** to get it and Ford should thank and respect you for hanging in there.

I went through a similar experience. I put in a reservation the same time you did. IMO, if Ford could think of something to PO a loyal customer, they tried it. Make the ordering process opaque by calling it “waves” and not telling anyone when they might be able to place their Lightning order, check. Raise the MSRP three times, the third time being a week before you ordered, check. Price Lightnings so no ER equipped truck could qualify for the $7500 tax credit, check. Eliminate Ford share holders access to “A Plan” discount, check. When they finally invited me to order I thought about it and said “naw”. I don’t need to pay $87k for a luxury car disguised as a pickup. As near as I can tell, only one in ten customers who initially placed a reservation actually followed through to purchase. At my dealer several customers placed orders and when the truck finally came in they walked away from it or bought an ICE F-150 instead.

After the July Lightning price “adjustment” I re-entered the market and found a dealer’s mannequin in a neighboring state equipped the way I wanted with 5k miles and for $13k less than if I had ordered mine when you did. Of course the dealer I did buy from didn’t make it easy for me. Still, I am very happy with the truck. The service department at my local dealer is very good to me. They were able to find and replace the rear light bar last week (see photo above).
As far as I’m concerned, Ford owes all of us who waited so long and went through so much to buy a Lightning a lot of thanks.

.... I wanted with 5k miles and for $13k less than if I had ordered mine when you did. Of course the dealer I did buy from didn’t make it easy for me. Still, I am very happy with the truck. I, also, saw a $13k drop in price including the tax rebate and other incentives that made the additional 6 week wait worth it.
