Lightning sales down 42 percent in May

May 2025 year over year sales show a steep decline of 42% for the Lightning. Mach-E sales increased 11%. The E-Transit is down a whopping 97%. Anyone else getting nervous about the future of the Lightning?

Well - the Lighting is on it's 4th model year without any real refresh - heck you could argue that later years were lesser in some ways than the 22's. Ford did delay the T3, so I am worried that they will cancel it altogether. I guess time will tell.

I'm happy to have had the chance to have a Lightning in my garage. I don't think an F-150 version will continue on. Probably something smaller and cheaper.

I think an affordable Maverick or Ranger EV would absolutely reign king in the market. People want an affordable EV, not ones with $80K price tags. I prefer the Lightning myself but we are a small subset of buyers.

I'm hoping the T3 will be engineered in a way that brings a midsize and full size truck. Kind of like how GM is using the one platform for a bunch of different sizes of SUV's. And now that I think about it, T3 should also include a few SUV's.

I prey that the Lightning platform continues. Granted im a new owner, but the truck is awesome even with me sitting here with mine in the dealership under repairs within a week of purchase.

Selfishly happy to see it, I want the lease incentives from before employee pricing to come back. They were way better before April 1st than they are now.
