To be sure it's a little disheartening at such a young age and low mileage, 1,175mi got the dreaded orange wrench and power reduced message. Didn't feel any loss of power so there's that lol. Time to fill up the beast and send her in. But 1st I'm gonna poke around in it with FDRS.

Coincidently just minutes before sitting in a drive thru, I was poking around center screen with drive modes and just trying to bide the time waiting, error popped on the way home..

I'm thinking possible ghost in the machine (software glitch) as those mode buttons had remained untouched once I discovered sport mode ,lol, ehh is what it is.

I'll update as time progresses.

In FDRS, you can do the Battery Health Check. It will show you all the cell groups (I think you have 90) and if there are any outliers. It's under Measurement Toolbox IIRC.

I'm hoping a simple reset will do the trick, I need to take it in any way for the brake booster recall (abs module update that I already did) lol. Thanks for the 411 on the cell check, I'll definitely have a look at that for curiosity sake if nothing else. I keep a close eye on my home back up system, solar/batteries so it sounds familiar.

Have you received an update recently? I had a spurious power train malfunction once immediately following an OTA. I later had a battery module replaced but it was two years later without issue between.

FYI, I don't think it's under Measurement Toolbox now that I remember some more! It is there somewhere, maybe under the BECM module as a procedure. I've done it a couple of times when I had my 2-day license. Pay attention to the last few lines - it will tell you which cells, if any, exceed thresholds.

You got a check engine light. It's not a big deal until you find out what it actually means.
Preaching to the choir my friend, been doing this kind of work for a living 40+ on the ice side of things.

No experience on the ev side hence the post title.

Get this, this morning I checked the app and the error is gone, wrench light off and no OTA registering. 🙄

My 23L has had a wrench for a couple months, due to shifter failure. It was replaced a year ago via recall but has gone up again. Problem is parts on back order. It is now on repair schedule!

With a couple of big software updates rolling out we might be seeing this a lot for the next few weeks.

Quick update, this morning I checked the app, error gone, remote started the climate control and drove to work, no wrench light on any more. Repeat the same start up this afternoon getting out of work, no lights, no error messages.

Going to dig into it this weekend with FDRS and see what's in memory, I'm thinking this might have something to do with me leaving it in gear when I opened the door, the shifter auto moved to park and later that day is when the errors popped up.

My 2024 did the same thing. I threw a yellow wrench with "Power Malfunction: Reduced power" message that e cleared on it's own. . They pulled up the codes and a P092:77 was in memory. They replaced the gear shift module and the errors have never returned.

I was a Ford dealer tech for 11 years, this is right up my alley. I'm going to let them repair what ever it needs, the truck is new, my curiosity must be satisfied 1st. 😁
