I also got the J+ booster 2 and bought the 6-20 adapter. Used it for a month or so until the power company had my wall unit installed and now it is my mobile backup charger that I keep in the truck. It's a really solid unit and was recommended by Tom from State of Charge, so that was good enough for me.

The J+ is ETL listed. It’s a solid choice.

New owner, first time poster...

Just picked up my Lightning, and we are living in a rental house, so my ability to install a 50-amp circuit is limited... I'm currently using the Ford Mobile Charger on a 120 V outlet with the expected trickle of 3 miles of range per hour...

The house _does_ have 3 outlets near a garage door that are 220V 20 amp outlets (the NEMA 6-20 "T" style outlets)

Do any of you have experience with aftermarket chargers that occupy the "middle ground" between the 120V 20 amp and the 220V 50 amp options I have with the Ford Mobile Charger?

I'm asking my landlord if he'll go in 50/50 with me about installing a 50 amp circuit in the garage, but I'm not optimistic...

Thanks in advance!
That’s all I use for over 90% of my charging is a 16 amp 240 it easily meets all of my needs. It charges at 3.6 kW about three times faster than what you have now.. you can buy a really nice Schumacher on eBay for about 60 bucks brand new it also doubles as a 120. It has a much longer cord than the Ford mobile charger and the handle and connector is much heavier duty. The wiring is heavier and nicer.. I have run this thing hard for three years between my Toyota RAV4 prime and this truck. It’s never missed a beat., my Ford mobile charger was junk in eight months and I used it about 10 times that was it..this thing has a 28 foot cord it reaches so far here’s one , I’d buy this again in a heartbeat .

The J+ Booster EVSE is nice, pretty expensive, portable, and supports NEMA 6-20.
