Besides consumer reports independent testing, so many YouTube videos show that the TerrainContact are the best. I like that the tire is aggressive looking and are still the best on-road tire out there. Any thoughts? I know so many people here recommend the Toyo's, but I've heard their road noise on the freeway, and they are not for me. I want to keep the ride quiet.

Note: I understand there are many different preferences for tires, but this is about most use case...mostly highway driving, best efficiency, longevity of tire, and all year usage.

I have the TerrainContact H/T so a bit more of a street tire than the A/T, but I like them a lot more than the General Crapper'

Better on everything and they seem to last quite well despite enjoying the acceleration at lights way more than I should.

Yeah, those get great reviews too, but I think many of us want a more "aggressive" look but still perform well on pavement. I was never a Continental fan, but both of these tires get great ratings.

Nice...How is the road noise and efficiency hit for you?
No efficiency hit I can tell, very quiet, Much quieter and better in rain than the KO2s were.

Search the forum for tires, lots of threads. TBH, I don't think I recall anyone considering these Continental Tires although generally I love Continental tires. For what it's worth, I haven't trusted consumer reports for years.

No experience with Continental truck tires, but I had such terrible experiences with the first and second ContiSportContacts I'll never go back to Continental, spent more time at the shop getting tires changed than driving.

I got the Goodyear with the layer of Kevlar and they’re good. Didn’t lose much range but I have some protection against nails which bit the Hankooks at the end of their life.

I am a BFG guy personally, but I see review after review saying the Continentals are the best overall on road/off road combo tire:

Similar experience to the post above with the continentals on a Ford Expedition EL… don’t know that I would try them again. Had the Michelin‘s on my last expedition and they seemed good but felt a little hard IMHO. Just put the Hankook IONs on the lightning and I’m very pleased so far.. They were quite a bit less expensive and seem to be as good or better as far as performance then the AT2s. And have a longer mileage warranty.

Until a cut and puncture test is added ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ who cares if it's 2 db quieter if it can't stay mostly round. I say go for it and report back, but i'm staying well away.

I'm debating on going Contis for my next set as well. Great experience with them so far across my previous vehicles. Even had one replaced, no questions asked, when I got a sidewall puncture a week after getting them installed on my old TLX. Contis on my previous Ascent lasted over 100,000km as well with no huge drop in grip or performance. In terms of tires, I would never go back to Good-for-a-Years. Horrible life, grip, and overall performance when I had them on my Ralliart.

Current OE Dynapros are holding up alright though. About 35,000km on them total and no evidence of uneven wear. I did jack the pressure up on day one to 45psi though from the 32psi I drove off the lot with.

I realize that everyone has a different perspective, but personally I have had very positive experiences with Continental passenger car tires (not the OEM ones but their higher-end models). Haven’t tried the Continental truck tires yet though. However, I HAVE tried the Cooper Discoverer AT3 tires on my Lightning - including the LT AT3X version which I am running currently as my “winter” tire here in NorCal. Freaking love these tires but there is a slight efficiency hit of about 5%. I think mostly due to the more aggressive sidewall, slightly wider tire and deep tread pattern. I run the similar AT34s the rest of the year and they are pretty quiet and seem to have similar efficiency to the stock Michelin garbage tires that came with my truck. Keep in mind that I have an XLT with 18in rims so I don’t know if Cooper makes the size you would want.

For what it’s worth, I have heard great things about this newer Cooper tire:

Good luck!
