Recently completed my first road trip in the Lightning. Had four charging stops on the way to my destination, and the only hiccup was at the second (ChargePoint) where the session would not initialize. I ended up having to get customer support to reboot the station and it worked fine after that (and a minor heart attack). The other three stops were at Electrify America, Circle K, and lastly FPL EVolution. I had no errors or strangeness at the last stop before my destination.
Left for home a few days later and stopped at Circle K, Tesla and the same Electrify America station on my way back. At EA, plug and charge failed to work at two different stations (worked fine the first time as well as at Tesla) so I went through the process of creating an account. Got everything set up, plugged in again and then plug and charge seemed to take over. Odd, since I gave it several minutes during the first couple of attempts. I noticed during the entire charge that it said something like “starting charger” on my FordPass app, but I successfully charged to 80% and got home.
After plugging in at home, I attempted to change my target charge back to 80% and it wouldn’t save. At this point I noticed there were no charge session details displayed besides charge rate. Weird. I checked charge history while looking through the app for any settings to toggle/reset and saw that it stopped recording sessions after my FPL EVolution stop, which is also strange considering I literally paid for one through FordPass on the way back.
So far I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling the app, changing the name of my “Home” charger in FordPass, restarting my phone.. Still can’t see any charge session details or adjust my target charge. Is there some kind of reboot I need to do on the vehicle side, or any other way to get the app to start working properly again?
