The one positive thing I have noticed after this update is that the vehicle stays on following charging. Before if I plugged in at a fast charger or otherwise, even a level two, I would have to restart to get driving.

I still had APP connectivity right after the update, and the APP showed the update had been installed.

Still do 9 hours later.

Maybe the update took the 12v battery down and the 12v battery shed loads on those trucks with strange effects?

My battery was on a maintainer right up until I did the update, and the NOCO had a green lights so 100% charged.

Just double checked the connectivity - good.
Checked the turn signal clicking - normal.

All systems go.

All those things mentioned - connectivity, signal sounds, dings, etc. - are dependent on the 12v battery system. When the battery gets too low, loads get shed, and some things stop working normally until the 12v battery is back up to an adequate SOC.

That's my theory anyway.

All normal sounds are back, yesterdays experience attribute to anomalous boot-loader, typical Ford.

That's another possibility if your 12v battery is in good health and was fully charged, the truck changed to a "default" sound during an incomplete or funky in some way reboot.

But every be aware, it could be because of a weak 12v or low charge battery.

"Low 12-Volt Battery: Updates can drain the 12-volt battery. When the 12v charge is low, the Body Control Module (BCM) often switches to the instrument cluster speaker for turn signals and warning chimes. This often corrects itself after a few drive cycles, as the system settles, the 12v battery charges, and the audio control module boots up properly.... If the sound does not revert to normal after a day or two of driving, it could be a lingering glitch from the update, but it is generally a temporary, intentional fallback behavior. "

The above explanation is an AI search combination of posts on various forums, including this one, and from Reddit, looking at the sources.

But I believe it is accurate and consistent with observations.

My LVB is 8 months old, it's just flunky programming and module start up.

I started having issues with my truck including the dreaded pull over and stop immediately error. The truck also wouldn’t start without a boost. I ran FORScan and noted the codes. I looked up the meaning of the codes in chatgpt .Everything pointed to either bcm or 12 v battery issue. I went to ford and paid for a new battery. The truck is a little less than 3 years old. I didn’t try to get a new battery under warranty because I am an idiot. (Not sure if they would cover it) and I am an impulsive man. Changed the battery myself and reset the bcm. My truck is working perfectly again. From my research I learned the purpose of the battery is mainly to turn on the computer of the truck. It is tied in closely to the big battery. Everything goes wonky if it is not working well. I started receiving OTA updates as well. My beautiful truck is working flawlessly again. I love my truck.

The 12v is the key to everything. If it's struggling, a lot of weird things happen. And if the Lightning is anything like the Rivian, you can't even charge the truck on level 2 if the 12v is completely dead.

Add me to the list of folks having received this update. Came in last night, and I haven't had a chance to drive yet this morning to know if I've received the bonus mute mode as part of the update.
