The 12v is the key to everything. If it's struggling, a lot of weird things happen. And if the Lightning is anything like the Rivian, you can't even charge the truck on level 2 if the 12v is completely dead.

Add me to the list of folks having received this update. Came in last night, and I haven't had a chance to drive yet this morning to know if I've received the bonus mute mode as part of the update.

The above explanation is an AI search combination of posts on various forums, including this one, and from Reddit, looking at the sources.
I think the AI search sources are predominantly your numerous posts on the topic .

Funny story. We had to go on a short notice trip. Had to move my son's vehicle. Came in, tossed my fob in basket, then realized I had his fob in pocket. Swapped them.

Well into the trip, I reached in my pocket and realized I had the Lightning fob but was driving the Mach-E... So PaaK worked perfectly on that trip.

Ouch! :)

No, not posting any thing from an AI search unless I explicitly say it is, like the one above.

I don't post them unless either 1) for a laugh because it is completely ridiculous or 2) because it actually got it right - which is kinda rare.

I prefer reliable sources that don't fly in the face of my education and experience (BSEE 1982, MSEE 1989, plus JD 1989, and over 20 years as a patent attorney, after a brief stint as a technical writer for a systems software group at Bell Labs in Piscataway NJ between degrees).

Add to my experience reading posts on F-150 Lightning forums since about 2023 and gleaning valuable information from the owners and technical people in the automotive arena.

What bothers me the most is Ford Motor Company's haphazard software and apparently 'entitled' executives who want to whine to the administration about Chinese automakers threatening their salary - over 600 times the rate of the average Ford worker, so don't talk to me about wages in China, or the cost to build a Lightning without considering executive compensation!

PS: Lead-acid battery technology is so basic and 'old' that even AI gets it right most of the time!

With all the weird effects of a funky 12v battery we've seen in the Lightnings, it has to be the first consideration whenever the Lightning misbehaves.
