I just hate the street tire look... and though I feel silly replacing brand new wheels and tires. I did it anyway.

Ion Alloy 20x9 wheels 18mm offset. Matte Black (Wish they offer gloss) but these wheels are LIGHT @ 28 lbs each (2500 lbs rating) Mounted on Nitto Ridge Grapplers (Stock size 47.22 lbs).

They will be in on Friday.

Hopefully I won't loose too much range. So 75.22 lbs per tire/wheel vs 39 (goodyear) + 37 Ford rims. So maybe 1 lb. lighter.

The offset and agressive tire will drop it around 10%-15%. Your mileage will vary. Be sure to keep that tire pressure up.
Yeah I didn't want to totally kill my range.... I just bought the truck. I'm running 45 psi but the range is really hard to track right now with the cold. (The Tesla does a much better job estimating range.)
But I wanted the agreesive look of these tires. I know they are not the best and the Open Country EV might have been a better choice.

I like the all-seaon hwy tires the truck came with for spring-summer-fall use. And the truck range estimate is spot-on with the factory tires/rims it seems.
For next Winter I want a set of Bridgstone Blizzak v2 on their own rims. I think I will stick with the factory 275-60-R20
Just have to decide what rims...

If you don't mind me asking, what did the new tires and wheels cost?

Follow-up: nearly a year later, the Blizzak V2's are amazing tires in snow and on ICE covered hwy, I am super happy with them, since they don't appear to cut the range terribly, at least not noticeably more than the cold weather did on it's own before putting the winter tires on the truck. Love the way this truck has good weight on the rear axel so pealing out of a stop light there is no spinning or baby the pedal to get going. A standard pickup suffers what we call around here "The winter traction issue" - where you need to drive in 4x4 all winter because of the heavy front, and light rear while attempting to power just the rear wheels. The problem becomes when your turning from one street to another, and hit a patch of bare asphalt and then "Bunny-hop" in 4x4 on that patch. The Lightning completely solves the Winter Traction Issue for a pickup truck.
Gotta love taking off from a traffic signal leaving the conventional trucks behind struggling to get traction on the snow and ice.

Interesting choice on the Ridge Grapplers. Those are notorious for poor rain and snow traction. They are panned all over the Web, generally finish last in professional reviews, and my brother said they tried to kill him several times on his '13 F-150 pickup.

Range is not hard to track. Just watch how much % your SoC drops vs miles driven. Ignore the GOM.

what size and design of stock wheel did you have, because if I understand your post correctly, you say you managed to cut weight with the alloy wheel rim but somehow managed add weight back on with the tires? so you went with new tires that were heavier than the stock tires, and this is how your weight differential between the OEM setup and this aftermarket setup is only 1 pound?

Respectfully, that is a terrible result. You've cancelled out the benefit of the light wheel by going with a heavier, less efficient tire not designed for street use. As many other owners have documented their experiences with those specific tires here, the Nitto Ridge Grapplers, you will likely see a pretty significant negative impact on your range because of those tires if you're just using them on the street.

Guys, if you want to see actual efficiency gains you must also cut unsprung wheel weight. The whole exercise [and expense] of getting an entirely new wheel setup in the name of efficiency is pointless if the total weight of the new package is the same, or more, than the old setup. And all of this is aside from running a tire not optimized for street use.

You do miss one point. For someone who NEEDS a beefier tire (and therefore heavier), if you can get back to the same total weight despite the heavier tire, it's a win.

A slight splitting of the hair, yes, but that isn't what OP said, nor was it OP's apparent use case.

But yes, you are completely correct. The situation you refer to would be a win.
