How do you guys handle making the connection to a passengers phone for music streaming via BT?

This has always been an aggravation this truck. I have the 15” sync screen in a ‘24 Flash. My phone stays connected routinely via AppleCarPlay. My daughter wants to stream music via BT from her phone. It’s always a goat rope to get this done, and it should be so simple.
Do you guys switch via the Media App on the apps page,

then

Which doesn’t work for me because those devices are not selectable. Add Device is not selectable either on this app.
Exactly what this app should be for, and it doesn’t work.

The redundant alternative is to go here …phone list

Then here

then pick the phone here and select (music)

This usually works, but if I have an active CarPlay connection often it won’t switch to the passengers phone either..
The Media App is supposed to work the same way, and I think it has in the past. Why is this so difficult?
How do you guys handle this? It’s soooo simple in the Tesla.

That sucks that you’re running into this frustration! We use SharePlay, but there are times when I want my wife’s phone to be connected via CarPlay, and we use the Phone List method to switch. Works every time without frustration for us.

Program a second driver profile for the other phone?

Simply turn off your BT?

This isn't a real problem for most people. My truck, my music. 😂 My son wants to hear a song?, I just play it through my Spotify on AA.

I can do that easy, but then the passengers phone then becomes navigation and everything else too.

So I guess it’s three questions……
1. Can I have Apple CarPlay connected and stream music via BT from another phone at the same time?
2. If not what’s the best way to switch to the passengers phone?
3. Does anyone use the Media App in Sync, seems like exactly what it’s for.

You are not alone with having BT streaming issues.
Some folks have used a wired connection instead of BlueTooth for the streaming.
I had so many drop-outs and disconnects on my 2023 Pro I gave up on BT and use an SSD formatted in xfat with my music files through the USB data port.
I can stream from a portable XM raido through the FM radio using an FM transmitter connected to the XM aux out.
There are many threads about BT streaming troubles, and I think there was a recent software update that solved some of them.

Connect daughter's phone.
Click on her phone, and select just the musical note icon.

We do this quite easily with Android phones.
