Phantom alert tones ... with no alert message?

I get double dinged when I enter a school zone. If you don't look quickly at the center display, the pop-up message will disappear before you can see it.

Interesting. I live pretty close to a grade school. I wonder if that's why I'm getting the alert even though I've turned off notifications.

I know I'm not crazy because it's happened more than a few times ... I'll get a double "ding" alert tone, but there will be nothing on either display to indicate why I heard the tones. It's happened over many software updates, so I don't think it's to do with a specific update. I would say it happens maybe once every couple of weeks, but no rhyme or reason as to why.

Anyone else getting these or ever had them, or have any other insight?

It’s a school zone.
Happens every time. If you look quickly at top of screen it will say it.
definitely the navigation though. Even at start up.

Definitely wasn't a school zone or playground... I've already got most of the built-in nav alerts muted because I'm typically on CarPlay, but will try and catch it and finally figure out once and for all what it is!

Just started happening to me after the last software update.

Update... Fob was sporadically waking up the truck like it had the lights on approach even though the feature was turned off. I cycled it and it stopped.

I also received a popup on the infotainment system about navigation connectivity a couple days in a row upon start up and after driving a few hundred feet. Not sure it was related to real time updates as within the week lots of road and bridge construction causing traffic changes and delays... No more phantom tones.

Yes I got them today on the highway. I’m pretty certain they are related to the driver alert system that prompts you to watch the road. I was looking at the screen a couple of times and hear the quick double beeps.

You could be onto something!
Occasionally, when I get in the truck to go somewhere, it will randomly tell me the traffic delay is XX minutes, but I have not set a destination or use navigation because I generally know where I am going!

Maybe it’s trying to tell us where we SHOULD be going? Hmmm..

My 2022 will do this from time to time and I found the ford navigation was setting a route all by itself.

Read the thread i linked, this is a common thread topic and is related to the Nav automatically "suggesting" a location.

I know the thread is about a year old, but I was looking for the info, so maybe someone else will be too.

It may be too early to say for sure, but I shut off *just* my "Suggested Destination" notifications in Navigation and I did not receive the double ding this morning. So, I'm feeling that likely is the explanation for my "phantom" double dings. Thanks, all. Hope this confirmation helps someone else.

That is likely the case in your situation, though some older Lightnings have a troublesome headlight switch, that needs to be cycled from auto to off then back to auto to resolve incessant dinging, the permanent solution is to replace the defective switch.
