Phone as key

Morning guys. Was wondering if anyone has set up multiple phones on your Lightning to use as the key. I’ve been using my iPhone since I bought the truck and it’s worked flawlessly. However, my last car, a Toyota Crown had the same “key as phone” function and when we set up a second phone it was an absolute nightmare. Caused all kinds of issues that even the dealer wasn’t sure what was up. Thought I’d ask you guys before I add an additional phone to the mix.

My wife and son are both on my phone as a key. Whoever gets to the car first and opens it is who the truck sync’s to.

We have 2 fobs for each vehicle, and 2 phones. Always bring fob, and don't spend a lot of time wondering if I've selected which vehicle in PaaK when I get in.

That said, often when I go to get in the Mach-E, and my wife is not yet in the vehicle, despite me being the one opening the door and trying to get in, the seat moves to her position (it shouldn't move at all because I am still getting in). Quite annoying.

Yeah so what I do is have my spare key fob in a Faraday bag locked in my center vault.

I had a very unfortunate incident (and expensive) occur when I had my Toyota Crown where the “phone as key” failed and that wasn’t pleasant. Had to get an uber home and back to retrieve the FOB and it only took one lesson for me to realize a back-up plan is a must.

Would one of you guys mind giving me a detailed instruction guide on how to set up a second phone? We been messing with this shit for 2 hrs and can’t get it set up. Thanks

It's been a while for us, but I was thinking there was a button right the app to add PAAK. Or you go right into the GUI in the truck. It is no different to add number 2 than it was to add number 1. We have 2 and we both are logged into the phone app with the same account.

Ford now has an action to add another driver, but I don't use it. We are in the same household. We share passwords and log into the account the same.
