Priority Update - BCM-24.5.1 - Frunk Operation (Walk Away Door Lock)

Going to upset quite a few people without the toggle to turn it off. Ford just likes making their support teams pull their hair out with these half baked updates. Guess they'll probably push the WAL toggle with the toggles for BC 1.4.

When you enable the toggles in Forscan, there's one to enable/disable WAL and a separate one to enable/disable WAL Feedback so I'm guessing it's different than the standard honk setting. Neither of those were added with the OTA. I didn't add the feedback toggle since I'm anti bing/bong/honk and the FordPass app notifies if it locked.

Hoping to get the BCM update, I miss WAL. I don't in any way want or need the horn feedback. The mirrors folding are enough for me.

I've got recently new neighbors that can't park in their garage because it's full of "stuff". To say the least they like to make sure their cars are locked by pressing that button two or three times. I'm not sure why they don't think it locked the first time by hearing it lock or by hearing the horn honk once. To say the least my dogs bark at it every time. I don't need any more horn honks.

Because if you rapidly complete multiple repeated lock sessions, a stored nearby scanner trying to sniff for the security code is left with the first one that is then already expired. Put your fobs in a Faraday pouch inside your house and you are also now more secure. Not fool proof but do what you can in this sophisticated digital theft world.

I'll buy that, but my guess is that 99.5% of people don't know or think about that. They just like that added reassurance because they don't think that first lock really worked. Of course, my opinion.

I got WAL several months ago, love it. There never was a beep, but it locks every time, unless the car is on.

I found out today that PAAK works even when the APP is off. Walked into the garage with my phone in my pocket and the door unlocked even though no key nearby and the APP was closed.

Awww the SW gods smiled on me today. A long awaited elusive BCM. WAL !!!!! I don't care if it changes the Frunk or not . I'll have to go dig out the Forscan cable. There is no indication this is EA, I don't have the email (yet) that I usually get. I'll update if I do.

I also just got the update scheduled in the App but disappointed I can’t start it from the App lol…..

Now where are the FORSCAN instructions for the WAL button ?

Update - this is indeed an EA release, just got the email. I won't discuss further publicly. All know that it is already out there. Hoping we find no problems and the general public should see it in just about 2 weeks if they follow that protocol.

I know you were looking to get a Mongoose - note you can use that for FORScan instead of the OBDLink.
