I have not fully tested mine but when I choose closest charger, it too defaults to 10 miles. Meanwhile the closest is 2.

Some update also took out the reserve from the app...see my past post quote...

Has anyone played around with the "search" setting for the type of charger? Does this make a difference? For example from the app, but also can be done in the truck.

The changes. I can now edit the name of target charge location in the app.

And the pro power now shows the frunk/cabin and bed outlets as separates when off, instead of a single statement item. Also it shows what I have the reserve set at. Before that did not exist.

The problem really seems to be hit or miss as I used the feature last week and it seemed to work fine. But this week is a different story. BTW, though it shouldn't make any difference, the 12v battery was fully charged as I keep it on a battery maintainer when I'm not actually driving it.
I really need this feature to work!....I can't be running out there to reset everything every 30-60 mins.

All I can say for sure is that I have slept many nights with the PPOB powering my CPAP machine (which draws only a few watts) either by leaving the truck on (disable the powerdown), or using a short interval timer and 100 watt heater. Never had PPOB shut down on me. I have also regularly left PPOB on powering a battery charger / power supply that is powering some radio equipment.
This is on a 2024 Flash which always have had the ability to leave PPOB turned on with the truck turned off.

Have you had a light load on the bed outlets when PPOB has incorrectly shut down? I am wondering if software for the 24 version of Pro Power which has a light power load auto off feature may have been loaded.

I had the 240V outlet running the house (about 1kw) but nothing on the 120V frunk outlets when it shut off suddenly..

I have a 2023 Pro, and the OP has a 2023 MY as well as @I <3 My Lightning

Maybe it is a 2023MY issue?

I had it happen with the truck OFF and PPOB ON, but the OP had the truck ON when it happened.

An OTA screwed something up on our 2023 MY trucks.
No easy way to undo/rollback these updates when they foul things up like you can with a PC.

I wonder if we could use the "AS BUILT" settings from FORD - but that would undo the good with the bad I suppose.

If we knew in more detail WHAT THE FUDGE the malformed OTA changed, maybe we could fix it with FORscan or FDRS...but no idea which module or modules got screwed up.

@Ford Motor Company : Brian we need a fix.

Again today....same issue PPO shut down after about 2 hours. It does seem that around two hours now is the shutdown point.....although it was a much shorter time a month or so ago. It doesn't seem to be consistent. This time I manually set the "reserve" level to 20 miles and the PPO shutdown at 85 miles.

Other data that may, or may not be of importance:

I need my truck "running" to activate PPO....but when it shuts off, the truck shuts down too. Hmmm, so what initiated the shut down? Did PPO shut down and then the truck? Or did the truck shut down for some reason and that killed PPO?

Also, when the system worked properly, a few months ago, I would get a message on the app that I was approaching the reserve setting.....I'm not getting that anymore! Probably because the truck does, in fact, know that I'm nowhere near that reserve. So if the truck knows that, why does it just shutdown?

Although I did see a message on the truck screen (one time only) saying the PPO shutdown because the reserve limit was reached (which it didn't). See....that time the truck didn't shutdown as the screen was still active. Not seeing much consistency here....even in the failures.......just frustration. HELP!

Do you by chance have a security camera you can temporarily put into the truck pointed at the center display? Preferably a camera that is continuously recording to a SD card. That way you can look at the camera recording to confirm any on screen messages, and what shut down first.

Maybe the shut down timer got glitched with the update and that is the issue.
I think there is a FORscan tweak for the shut down timer...maybe we should try that.

I need to test it again with the truck ON and see what happens - maybe I'll set up a camera to record the dash too.

Did a test Sunday with the truck ON this time.

It did not shut off prematurely and I got an APP message when it was getting close to the reserve.
The message was in my In Box - it did not pop up on my screen like a warning should IMO.

I only had time to run it for about 1-1/2 hours though, so not the 2 or more hours I did before.

I turned OFF the shut down timer and set the reserve manually.

When I set the reserve to 10 miles in the truck, the APP said the reserve was set to 0 (zero)!!

And the APP display indicated only one side of the split phase output was using power, but the truck screen showed both phases using power, although one was rather low, only about 100W.

I had to raise the reserve - I was only using about 900W and I needed to get it over with to run an errand after about 1-1/2 hours.

I will try again for a longer time when I get a chance since I'm still worried it will shut down prematurely when I really need it.

Thanks for working on it. Good that it worked as it should, but we still know that there's still something wrong. Funny though that my latest sessions had it stop after about 2 hours. I will time it more precisely the next time I use it. I do know it's stopped short in less time, but that was a while ago now.

But that testing won't be for 3-4 weeks as I will be in Florida and Georgia for that long. But, of course, I'll still monitor this forum.

But curious....are you talking about the Ford app? You can see your reserve setting and PPO usage graphic on the app? Do I not have the right app? My app shows nothing!....pretty worthless. Perhaps I never opened the app when using PPO. Could that be it?

Yes, the Ford App, but you have to have a recent version. That was just recently added. I just checked - I have 6.12.0

Yes, it was added to the FORD app recently in an update.

Yes the time it cut off I had run it over 2 hours, maybe 3 hours, so have to try that again and see if any warnings or messages show up when it craps out (if it does).

Definitely acted differently recently in the FORD app display of the usage than it did before.

Have a good trip!
