Let me ask the team and see what they come back with.So are you saying something else was delivered and the release notes were wrong? If so, what was delivered, i.e. what are the real release notes?
Yes, the mirrors fold on lock. Mirror fold has nothing to do with the honk. Since WAL was activated it honks after closing the tailgate or frunk, too.
Do you have it set to fold the mirrors on lock? Might turn that on, if not and see if it stops honking.
Holy f*** - This is the type of engagement we’ve been looking for! Thanks Brian!!First of all, thank you to this forum for helping us escalate internally.
Some F-150 Lightning customers (including folks in this thread) recently received a software update with release notes stating they received the Walk-Away Lock Feature. Unfortunately, the release notes were sent in error and the feature was not delivered. While we are working to deliver the Walk-Away Lock feature on equipped vehicles with Keyless Entry, the feature is not available at this time.
The team apologizes for any inconvenience and confusion this has caused. We look forward to sharing an update when it is ready for you to use.
Thank you for the update Brian. It’s nice to see a representative engaging in a helpful way.First of all, thank you to this forum for helping us escalate internally.

Same update situation as my '23 Lariat ER (built 9/2023). Got this SYNC-25.2.1.6.5 "update" Monday evening with such toggles as outlined in the release notes. The only other updates I've had this year are DDM 25.12.0 (window functionality) on April 10 and ECG-24.2.5.7 (gateway module) on February 28. Still no BC 1.4 or ECG-25.2.5.7.1 (LVB performance). Having those would be substantially more beneficial.I got this update on Monday. I have no toggles and it does not activate. 2023 Lariat ER. I’m still on standard Bluecruise with no lane change.
To (eventually) activate WAL (post PU-Sync-25.2.1.6.5), do I need BCM-24.5.1, or is the there a different BCM update I still don't have? You still another update for the BCM in order for it work.
Pretty sure that's the BCM update. To (eventually) activate WAL (post PU-Sync-25.2.1.6.5), do I need BCM-24.5.1, or is the there a different BCM update I still don't have?
Yeah, that's what my limited research shows - sad that its not in the release notes, or worse, why push this release before the other dependency is met. Makes no sense and is confusing for the end user. I was almost inclined to open a service ticket to "fix" the broken WAL -what a waste of a dealer visit if ppl actually do as I would think. No, this is a two-part update. You still another update for the BCM in order for it work. The release notes should have some kind of disclaimer saying something about this, but it does not. Either way, you got newer Sync software that most likely has other improvements built into it. Eventually, the update you need for WAL to actually work will come in.
Well, if the dealer would do the BCM update, it would fix the issue of WAL not working. As stated by not AI Brian from Ford, the release notes are erroneous. Seems like that verbiage should not have been in there at all, or something else should be in there to let people know about it.Yeah, that's what my limited research shows - sad that its not in the release notes, or worse, why push this release before the other dependency is met. I would start dusting off your FORScan cable.‘22 Lariat. SW is downloading. I’ve got an updated BCM and added controls via Forscan, so it all works. It’ll be interesting to see what this breaks or if all works or if I have to get Forscan out again.
The Lightning sub-reddit has these posts of confusion/asking questions as well.Well, if the dealer would do the BCM update, it would fix the issue of WAL not working. I can only imagine the confusion of all the owners NOT on the forums who have to try and figure this out on their own or with their dealer who is just as clueless as to what is going on as they are.
Don't know how, but it all survived. New Sync version 25094 (which I'd been really worried about with the news a month or so back), WAL settings still present and set correctly and WAL works like a champ still.I would start dusting off your FORScan cable.![]()

Maybe time to buy a lottery ticket. Oh wait - I did on the way home.
