How much does one risk warranty problems by going over to the "dark side?" For instance, I've got the part to install the overhead console motion sensor removed from 2023 vehicles, but wondered, since it's not officially supported for 2023 Lightning vehicles, whether I'm going to have Ford problems down the line, even if I successfully install it using the wonderful instructions folks on this forum have created for doing so.
The only thing that would not be covered is whatever you added that wasn't there from factory.

If your meddling causes a failure, warranty won't cover it. The dealer has the burden to prove it, but I've heard that sometimes it's turned into a disagreement.

If you fry something when installing the sensor, or brick the truck using Forscan, yeah, warranty won't cover it. But if there is some sort of failure they blame on you installing the sensor and tell you warranty won't cover it, tell them to prove it.

As an aside, I suppose one of my pet peeves, I don't like it when people use the term "voiding" the warranty, such as "if I do xyz to my truck will it void the warranty?" The only thing that comes to mind that voids the warranty is if it's salvage titled. Warranty not covering a failure because of you doing xyz is not voiding the warranty. The warranty is still in effect and will still cover the rest of the truck.
The only thing that would not be covered is whatever you added that wasn't there from factory.
U tryin to tell me my 2 foot lift kit wouldn’t be covered under warranty!?!? Ridiculous

Only took a few years but month or two ago I got a software update and since then I have ZERO wireless CarPlay issues.

What a relief.

Hmm, now that you mention it I haven't had this issue with my CarPlay audio in at least a few weeks. Fingers crossed it's fixed!

WHICH update was that? should mention this feedback in that thread, or I can move these post there.

I gave up on BlueTooth streaming music from my audio devices - drop outs disconnects etc. - and use a hard wired SSD now.

Thanks, I'll have to try it again and see if its better, assuming I got the OTA update.

Apparently I did get the update on 07/17/2025 so hope it helps.

Ok I was able to go to my truck and take a picture of the update. It’s been a while.

it looks like SYNC-25.2.1.6.5

since this update I have had zero wireless CarPlay issues where before I had an issue every 1 out of 5x

Moved posts #153 to #157 to this OTA thread as the likely "positive" solution.

I've noticed the same. I did have one Sync 4A screen freeze up since, but besides that, I haven't be employing any of my "tricks" to avoid CarPlay issues (i.e. pausing audio before turning off the truck). So far, so good. Was going to mention it to the dealer at my 20k tire rotation next month, but now I'm reconsidering. I am still curious to see if it's worth getting TSB 25-2105, but now I'm concerned I'll "re-break" it. I'll follow up if I run into renewed issues.

Well, here's hoping this update comes to my 25 Flash soon. I'd really love to have bluetooth audio streaming work reliably.
