March 7th is the reveal of the R2.
Rivian still has to build the factory that is going to build the car. Likely ETA in 2026.

Rivian doesn't have a plant to build the R2 yet.

The plan is to build it in Georgia....but that plant has has not even started construction yet. The locals are fighting the construction of that factory, so there are some delays.
