Thus far, I've been more than lucky that despite navigating through torrential rain, blizzard snow and driving sleet, I've never experienced the water intrusion issue on my rear lightbar since I drove my truck home in October of 2022. And so because my schedule is pretty hectic, I've been putting it off. Well now, just a couple weeks before my planned cross country trip towing my camper, the curse has finally struck me.
I'll be calling my dealership and I'm gonna see what their availability looks like, but if it's not something they can get done in a single working day, I'll probably just have to deal with it when I get back.
For now, from what I can ascertain, it's simply a poor seal on the edge. I can actually see the incredibly poor RTV silicone bead from the factory, so if I have to deal with it myself for now, I'm gonna simply drive off the moisture with a heat gun and then clean and reseal the edge with RTV silicone.
For those who have had this recall completed, how long was your turn around once your dealership had the part?
