Resolved: 🙈 Post #6 for DIY solution.
-----

Let me set the stage...

I drive with sandals on, because I live in California. I like to keep my HVAC set on the upper vents and the lower vents (none of that auto business). It moves more air, more quietly.

This results in a rectangular 3 hole vent that's just above the go pedal blasting ice cold air at my little piggies.

Does anyone know of a solution? Ideally, I'd just like to put a 90° turn on it so it points out towards my balls (read:under the seat) so the ventilated seat can have a little more cold air to loudly blow around.

If not, guess it's time to fire up the 3d printer.

Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

And... To head off unhelpful suggestions....
  1. No, I don't want to turn off the floor setting.
  2. No, I don't want to use auto.
  3. No, I'm not going to wear wool socks so my foot stays cozy.

Are you looking for the most difficult solution possible? Because it sounds like you want a really hard solution.

It seems like engineers who design HVAC systems would have a solution to cold air blowing through the bottom vents. If I were an HVAC engineer I'd design a system that made the cabin the temperature you wanted and it would direct the air to just the right places for comfort depending on the temperature of the air. Someone should do that. It would need a schnazzy name. I'm more of an ideas guy though, someone else could come up with a name for a system like that.😁

Slap some Gorilla Tape on there and you'll be golden.

Tools / Parts list:
  • 2 beers (not pictured)
  • Sheet of plastic (mine was from an outdoor Ikea patio chair)
  • Heat source
  • Cutting implement
  • Double stick tape
Instructions:
  1. Get a beer
  2. Rummage around your house for a 6" x 3" piece of plastic
  3. Go to your truck and look at the vent you need to attach to. Turn on truck, AC, enable floor vent, disable power down timer, fight with android auto that didn't connect and eventually put on <insert song here>.
  4. Heat plastic with heat source and bend into an L shape. Only bend 75°. Pretend it's an L drawn by a kindergartner.
  5. Get a 2nd beer while you fine tune.
  6. When content, slap some double stick tape on it and put it in place.
  7. Sit in seat and test. Finish beer if not already completed.
  8. Clean up mess later when starting next project.
