Yo-hey Brian/ @Ford Motor Company - What is the update with this issue/bug?

I'm disappointed that this has not been resolved yet and continues to get worse and worse; lately, I have been experiencing my F150L fall out of Sport mode 4/15/30/44 minutes after putting it/confirming it is in Sport mode whenever I first start up the truck and drive. Yesterday was the second time I had to toggle on one pedal drive just to get the truck to go back into Sport mode. (I then toggled 1PD off).

I don't think this is a hard issue to fix, I feel as if these issues/bugs aren't going to be addressed in a timely manner- if at all anymore....

What say you -Mr. Ford?

I can't stop thinking how insane it is that Ford has consistently since release, done a poor job at implementing technology updates. They must look at Tesla and see how they do it, then simply do the opposite. So many stupid technology issues with the Lightning that I would like to believe could be resolved if a couple capable engineers were put to the task.

Why does the cabin preconditioning turn off if you open the Frunk? Likely carry over from the ICE, but this should be easily resolved.

Why are we limited on how long to keep the cabin climate conditioning going? They chose to put a time in there. They could have chosen to not put that limit, or at the minimum give you hours of extension.

Why did they not listen to everyone posting on all the groups across the internet and give you some other method to enable preconditioning of the battery? You know you are 20 minutes out from the charger, give an option to press a button in the Infotainment. Nope... Gotta use the Ford Nav or Google Maps via Android Auto. Only choices. This is an EASY win for Ford to make customers happy.

Why can't Pro Power be configured to always stay on when the truck is powered off? Why does it need to be set each time you start your truck? This is ridiculous.

Why can't you turn on Pro Power via the Ford app? Perhaps this is slightly more complex than simply allowing us to keep it on via the slider always. But still, it doesn't sound like it should be difficult to pass that through.

Now enabling pinch-to-zoom in CarPlay seems like an easy win that I know users would love. This is simply a setting that Ford has to say yes to and push it out. The codebase in iOS 26.0 enabled it for the hardware vendor to authorize or not. Nothing more needed. It works on F-150 Raptors, even older 2018 Raptor can do it on their smaller infotainment. Pllleeeaaaaaassssseeeeee.

I guess I could go on and on.
I'm 98% sure all of this will fall on deaf ears because there are countless posts about this across the internet and nothing has been done. But one can always hope. Pray. Wish.

Are you sure it's random? From what I can tell, the gauges change but it never actually engages sport for me. You can verify it on your end with the throttle. Additionally, I just woke up so I can't recall why I actually think this, but I suspect it's a Forscan related thing.

Out of all the randomly timed switches, is there anyone without any Forscan mods?

For me, it's random, for a period of time (several weeks) it would almost always revert between 30seconds and 4 minutes, but then that changed.

No Forscan. No mods to my leased '24 Flash except a cap, stubby antenna, floor mats and seat covers. [nothing that would warrant any sort of software issue imposed by me].

For the record, mine is semi random timing. It's coming back to me a little, the switches in the interface would sometimes be greyed out, the most common of which would be 1PD, and at least twice switching manually from normal to sport from the main screen resulted in a switch back. I assumed that it was a forscan related bug but maybe its a module boot issue. Who the hell knows?

I have not modified my Lightning in any way {YET} I'll test this next drive.

For me, the max gauge switchback time was around 5 minutes, but the accelerator/butt o meter combo clearly showed it was still in normal.

I'm still digging up further info, but from what I'm seeing it is a bug and should be fixed in an upcoming OTA.

The timing still falls within "several weeks or so" from that date - I'm going to go ahead and be optimistic about a resolution in the next couple weeks. 😬

Still waiting, Ford. Add me to the list of Lightning owners having this beyond annoying condition.

I've had this theory shot down before on this site but here goes... Owner of a late build 2025 Plantium with the latest software. 98% of the time, Sport Mode remains active when the truck is started but will switch to Normal Mode the moment Android Auto loads. The two are related. Prove me wrong.

Turn off your wireless projection, it will do it anyway. Thats not to say they aren't related, maybe something about booting the projection system causes it. But my wireless projection is off and regardless if I plug in my phone or not it's gonna turn 'off', not that it was on anyway.

Edit: Actually, turn your phone off and go for a drive, it'd provide another data point where we can perhaps narrow it down.

I have iOS - It's become a game to try to get my truck to stay in Sport mode - eventually I'll probably have an accident because of all the screwing around with the UI I need to do in order to get the truck to switch into Sport mode - weeeeeeee
