Scary drive home… sunroof shattered

Not sure if my sunroof just scattered on it’s own or something hit it, but scared the hell out of me driving through highway underpass None the less.
At first, it just shattered and then started coming apart and was like this when I finally got home.
luckily no one one was hurt and I was able to close the sunshade (even though the roof in the vent mode) that minimized the glass shrapnel from entering the cab.

the dealer and insurance have been great. New sun roof, sunshade and major interior clean..
parts are expected in 2 days and 12 hours labour. .

This happened to my 2019 Expedition last summer but luckily the shade was closed when it exploded on the highway. Looked blown outwards as the glass was curved up around the hole.

Wow! two day repair? That repair and cleanup can be done in half a day or less.

It's the detail you want to be thorough. I just replaced my glass on my back window (silly incident moving a desk and shattered it). The safety glass and the dust from are no joke. Safelite took most of a work day and the detail took about 4 hours, so the timeline sounds reasonable and happy you're able to get it done so quickly.

You are lucky the hooligans were a tad late dropping the rock from the overpass, hitting your sunroof instead of your windshield. Always scan for pedestrians on an overpass and avoid driving under them.
