Dropped my truck off at the dealer yesterday and they said the shifter was on back order. How long have people been having to wait for their faulty lightning shifters to be replaced at the dealer?

Considering having it towed back to my house and installing the rotary shifter myself (even though I prefer the feel of the stock shifter).

The ICE F150’s use the same shifter and are also having the same failure rate so that has created a significant demand.

ICE models have the folding shifter too? Interesting, so what's the deal with them?

Yes. Like lightning it’s on the trim levels that have the fold out workspace console.

Mine was ordered at the dealership on June 25th. No updates yet.

If I’m patient enough for the dealer to get the part I’ll prob still buy a rotary shifter for backup so I don’t get stuck somewhere again.

Mine was stuck in the drive position with the amber colored light next to “D” on the shifter flashing. On the cars dash screen it was actually in park though. Could not move the shifter at all and had to have the vehicle towed.

Heck, now they're making the fold down shifter without the workspace.
That may be the case here as well. I’m not entirely sure which do or don’t have it, but I do know it’s a pretty wide spread problem.

How is that rotary shift knob working out for folks; any issues or warranty denials for swapping it out?

I swapped to a rotary knob. It is a less intuitive than the lever, but sure freed up space on the console. If I don't shift to park before opening the door or depowering the vehicle, it will set the park brake and I have to manually release it to move again. I general, I do like it due to the freed up space on the console.
As far as warranty, mine is dealer installed using a new module from a Bronco Sport and a tub from Manion Makes.

Very cool. I had no idea the dealer would install that and warranty it.
