Your dealer just has no imagination. My service manager followed up by putting one in his '25 F150 Tremor.I tried to explain to my dealer that you can use a rotary shifter from a bronco or Mach E instead and he was like ya it’s not that simple all trucks are different lol. Then he said it mayy void the warranty too.
Dropped my truck off at the dealer yesterday and they said the shifter was on back order. How long have people been having to wait for their faulty lightning shifters to be replaced at the dealer?
Considering having it towed back to my house and installing the rotary shifter myself (even though I prefer the feel of the stock shifter).

I was hoping for a little bit more specific answer, perhaps someone with more knowledge of the issue will chime in, thanks for trying though. They suck!
ICE models have the folding shifter too? Interesting, so what's the deal with them?
The shifter is electronic. Something internally is failing and producing a bad signal. Mine hasn't failed so I haven't bothered to take it apart and find the actual cause.I was hoping for a little bit more specific answer, perhaps someone with more knowledge of the issue will chime in, thanks for trying though.
OK. To select the travel direction on an EV requires only a simple electrical signal. The bulky mechanical contraption on our trucks is overly complex and is prone to failure. That’s why it sucks and some are replacing it with something much more simple.I was hoping for a little bit more specific answer, perhaps someone with more knowledge of the issue will chime in, thanks for trying though.
That’s pretty harsh. When did you swap out? They suck!
Ignore may earlier post. I see what you meant now and I agree.OK. To select the travel direction on an EV requires only a simple electrical signal. I bought the attached shifter on eBay, there are a lot of options that all use the same wiring harness and that I understand are compatible but I can only confirm personally that this one works. All the logic is located on the shift module itself. E,g. If you open the door with your seatbelt off and shifter in drive, it will go to park just like stock shifter.Nice! Which part number did you get for the rotary shifter?
I used this part number : LJ9Z7P155DNice! Which part number did you get for the rotary shifter?
Took vehicle to dealer yesterday for suspension bolt recall and random "off" and "on" Powertrain Malfunction Reduced Power warning during total of two 1200 mile round trips. Picked up and was told 30 day backorder on gearshift module. No information on bolt tightening repair. Called dealer back and asked to see the report from the test dealer's test equipment showing the shifter is bad. The red wrench indicator is still on and warning comes on when vehicle is started. Is all the foregoing normal business as usual ?Dropped my truck off at the dealer yesterday and they said the shifter was on back order.
