I can't believe they're still playing these games. I'm on Oahu, Hawaii, so there aren't a lot of places to go. Placed my base XLT ($57,490) order in June and it's at the dealership ready to go today. Just got the invoice break down and they have a $7,000 "readjusted market value" plus a $2,295 "Resistall ceramic infuse inside and outside, with 7 year coverage for exterior waterspots, paint fade, rust and seat rip, crack, tear, stain".
Won't give me the $1,500 customer cash, but offered 3.9% 60 month financing.
I have the online order PDF, with the dealership accepting the order with the "Difference from total MSRP" at $0. I went with this dealership because the other two dealerships in town had $6k and $10k markups in that line item.
I called the dealership and told them MSRP is what I'm buying this for. They said the coating is already there so he doesn't know if that'll come down. I told him I don't need the 7 year coverage and they should have asked first. He's "asking to see what they can do."
What are my other options here? Should I call the state AG? Email/call/tweet at Ford corporate? I was pretty excited until they pulled this crap. Good thing I didn't head down there yet.
just curious, what would it cost to ship the truck, if you bought it in CA?I can't believe they're still playing these games. I'm on Oahu, Hawaii, so there aren't a lot of places to go. This. The markup game is over.Ask for your deposit and walk ....... wait a month and see if they still have it and are willing to sell to you at BELOW market rate, EFFFFFF them good.
So it's way cheaper than buying through greedy Hawaiian dealers, especially since many mainland dealers are now discounting below MSRP.About $2500, plus flights and time spent.
Yes, there are Costcos in HI.Costco Auto Program. Not sure if there's a Costco in Hawaii, my guess is no. But this program eliminates all of the dealer sales BS.
