Thanks for everyone who answered. Only took a couple of angry calls to get the pricing sorted... still a bad look.

I can't believe they're still playing these games. I'm on Oahu, Hawaii, so there aren't a lot of places to go. Placed my base XLT ($57,490) order in June and it's at the dealership ready to go today. Just got the invoice break down and they have a $7,000 "readjusted market value" plus a $2,295 "Resistall ceramic infuse inside and outside, with 7 year coverage for exterior waterspots, paint fade, rust and seat rip, crack, tear, stain".

Won't give me the $1,500 customer cash, but offered 3.9% 60 month financing.

I have the online order PDF, with the dealership accepting the order with the "Difference from total MSRP" at $0. I went with this dealership because the other two dealerships in town had $6k and $10k markups in that line item.

I called the dealership and told them MSRP is what I'm buying this for. They said the coating is already there so he doesn't know if that'll come down. I told him I don't need the 7 year coverage and they should have asked first. He's "asking to see what they can do."

What are my other options here? Should I call the state AG? Email/call/tweet at Ford corporate? I was pretty excited until they pulled this crap. Good thing I didn't head down there yet.

Unfortunately, this discussion needed to be had before the truck came in, getting in writing from them, with a management signature. Now, they're going to play their games.

Dealer add-ons are so annoying...I kept asking about these when I was calling around. The sales guy I worked with didn't even know all the add-ons they add on. After we agreed on price, they sent me an email with the final tally from doc fee etc... and I saw a line item for $400 for anti-theft etching. I asked and the finance guy said it was a standard add for all their vehicles. I told them no thanks, I agreed to a price that didn't include add ons. They eventually agreed to take it off the final price.

Some do, some don't, depends on how desperate they are to sell. My local dealer wouldn't budge from 10k over and eventually shipped it to a CA dealership. No idea what goes into their decision making process.

just curious, what would it cost to ship the truck, if you bought it in CA?

About $2500, plus flights and time spent.
So it's way cheaper than buying through greedy Hawaiian dealers, especially since many mainland dealers are now discounting below MSRP.
