Took some time to build out my own version of the mount. I wanted to fix a few things that bugged me.
  1. The angle on the driver side of the mount bugged me. I wanted the lip to be parallel to the trim from back to front. This version has straight sides.
  2. Because of this, the cupholder is not Nalgene or 40oz water bottle sized. I sized it to use a readily available 9cm (3.54") liner. Fits standard 20 oz Yeti style tumblers with room to spare.
  3. Also added a small spill ring around the shifter knob. It won't do much, but it could block a minor spill from falling down in between the mount and the shifter. I don't expect this to do much, but I wanted the smallest amount of piece of mind.
Printed in PETG-GF for the matte finish and its ability to hide layer lines. I ordered to much filament thinking I was going to need to do more prototyping, so I'd be willing to make more for anyone interested.

Looks sharp! I'm also thinking of ways to seal the small gap around the shifter knob. Would it be crazy to consider a small bead of caulk / sealant?

Not crazy crazy it might work OK. I thought about an o-ring groove, but I'm not sure there's enough wall there for me to cut out. Might look into it more.

Now I need to go out and see how mine isn't parallel lol...

Looks great, I might be interested on one.
LOL. I don't consider myself OCD, but it was bugging me.

Let me know if you do have some interest. I started an Etsy shop under the same name just in case anyone needed one. Have enough filament on hand to make at least 3 more now that I've dialed it in. I'll keep making more if there's demand.

Yup, that's it, thanks for posting the link. I didn't want to come across as spam. I have some extra liners so those will be included in any I sell. I don't have a print farm and the PETG-GF is a little more expensive than some other materials so the price is a little higher than Manion's original modular design.
I like the design and look of it. So, I ordered one from your Etsy listing.

Just curious, what 3D printer do you have? My Prusa MK4's build volume is not large enough to accommodate one of these models. Less expensive to buy one than to upgrade my printer as much as I want to...

Thanks, appreciate it!

I'm using an Elegoo Centauri Carbon - the build volume isn't big enough to print flat, but I can print it at a 45 degree angle. I made some features on the model so that it would sit flat and the support would have some good anchor points.

Just completed the conversion this evening! I printed this in Carbon Fiber Polycarbonate and I think it looks pretty darn close to factory. (Ignore the need for an interior detail - this is a work truck)

Installation took ~10min.

I need to try some of PA6-CF or GF at some point. My top surface never comes out perfect, so I made some inserts that I printed on a carbon fiber build plate to give them some texture. I attached them for anyone interested and I printed mine in black TPU. The main tub is printed in Sunlu black ASA using a Bambu H2S

Hey all, working on a new option. Instead of the cupholder, going to a rectangular cubby but adding mounting holes for standard AMPS style mounts. I've seen people on Reddit, Facebook and here want phone charging options. I think this will work nice.

A 17mm ball mount can be purchased (I'm going to see how a printed version works) and there are some nice Qi 2 wireless chargers with active cooling out there with 17mm ball receptacles.

Examples:

Should have the mount printed out today and one of the chargers delivered tomorrow to test fit.

I'm happy with Sunlu ASA now that I have the settings dialed in. I like that it comes neatly wound on a reusable plastic spool that works well with my AMS. I’ve tried Polylite as well and liked it, but it’s a bit pricier and comes on a cardboard spool. That said, Polylite definitely wins when it comes to color variety—they offer way more options. I usually print ASA in black, so Sunlu works well for my needs.

I recently picked up five spools of Sunlu Black ASA from AliExpress (shipped from the US) for around $60 total, including shipping.

With ASA, I normally print with an outer brim to make sure it doesn't move around. I also add extra brim to my tree supports to make sure they don't move. I had problems initially with Sunlu until I got the temperatures and flow rate dialed in. Before that I had problems with models failing because the supports would come loose during print.

I know the other charger options also have the same issue, but the one problem I see with this is blocking the fold-down work surface. At least with the AMPS mount it looks like you've got the mount low enough down that you could probably swivel the arm down into the cubie there to get it out of the way.

You're 100% right about blocking the work surface. As it sits in my model right now, the ball on the mount is just proud of the top surface, but below the actual trim level on the truck. The work surface would fold down no problem with nothing attached. Doesn't look like enough clearance with a charger attached.

I considered moving the mount further down, but I wanted to keep some storage functionality.

Haven't figured out a design that's win-win yet. This may be an option for people that don't care about the work surface or have trucks without. Will need to think on it more.
