Tesla Charging Station Paused

I have attempted to charge my F150 lightning at a Tesla charging station three or four times. In each case I get the same message "cgarging station paused". The dealer is unable to tell my why or what I can do to charge at a Tesla charger. I would appreciate any help to get me going.

I had a similar message pop up the first time I tried at a supercharger as well. Ended up that I didn't fully plug in the adapter to the charge port because the cable was too dang short! Pulled up slightly, nearly kissing the bollard, and plugged in again with no issues.

Could also be that you're at a V2 supercharger? Never tried going to a V2 myself but just spitballing.

Which adapter are you using and specifically, what Supercharger were you using (name of location)?

Are you using the Tesla app?

Is the charger compatible? The older ones are not.

Do you have everything plugged in securely? Some adapters can be quite stiff to insert fully.

alconcolaroja09 you aren't really providing enough information:

A) is this a Tesla "NACS Partner" Supercharger location that actually accepts other EVs?
(only the Tesla APP can tell you this)

B) how are you ACTIVATING the Supercharger unit:
the Ford Pass APP? The Ford onscreen Charge App? the Tesla App?

I had issues at first when trying to charge at Tesla stations. Mine was a different error message though. I had to deactivate and then reactivate Blue Oval on my Lightning. Worked like a charm after that.

Dealers are useless, better to call the charging station customer service, who will ask the appropriate sequence of triage questions to solve your situation.

Which adapter are you using and specifically, what Supercharger were you using (name of location)?

Mavulo Tesla to J1772 Adapter

I tried charging at tesla superchargercharger locaed at 27700 Katy Freeway, Katy Texas 77494 and at tesla supercharger Village at West Oaks 2344 Piping Rock Ln, Houston Tx 77077

That is a AC level 2 adapter. Not compatible with DC fast charging

Thank you. Based on re-reading some of the posts I ordered a level 2 adapter and DC fast charging adapter from a2z. Hopefully I will be better prepared.

Good bet. In the 5 weeks I have had my Lightning, I have so far charged at 5 different Tesla SuperCharger locations (all in southern California). In all cases, I used the A2Z Typhoon Pro adapter. On the first one, I plugged the adapter into the NACS cable and then into my truck. It did not work. So I tried again by plugging the adapter into the truck and then the NACS cable into the cable. Worked perfectly. I have done the same every time I used a Tesla SuperCharger and it has worked perfectly every time. No idea why, but it's been 100% reliable with a peak charging rate onf 184KW (damn, that's nice).

Do you have to do anything in an app prior to connecting the cable?

I use P&C through ford pass for occasional use. If you fast charge often, the Tesla ap with membership is worthwhile
