The Ford Service Advisor has a surprising amount of discretion. Ford’s policy is to price match, but the advisor can do concierge pick-up/drop-off, up the rebate to $140 Ford points, update software, etc. Gentle pushing and feigning ignorance does wonders by my recent experience.

looks like my truck came with XL load instead of SL load. I believe I read somewhere the SL tires are getting better range.
never mind XL has less rolling resistance so it’s better for range.

Will 34" tires (275/65/20") on stock 20" wheels fit with stock suspension without rubbing on front in turns?

Yes you shouldn’t have an issue.

Just got them installed this morning and they look and ride very nice. Checked lugnut torque and it is at 150 ft-lb like factory requires, so all good.

Your truck looks so good! Those sidewalls look more prominent and aggressive than others I’ve seen. Are the sidewall detail the same on both sides? Or could it be the XL 116T version?

I have found that discount tire is not using their Hunter Road Force balancers properly. The machine is capable of road force MATCHING, but the process is time consuming and the guys don’t like doing it. Road force matching indexes the tire to the wheel and requires the bead to be broken and the tire repositioned on the wheel before final balancing with weights. Basically the spin is done twice, first to index the tire with the wheel, then again to balance the now ideal combo.
Done properly the weight required to balance is little to none. Twice I’ve caught them skipping the matching step and just balancing on the first spin. It’s not right, but nobody is paying attention and calling them out on it. I had to call the manager out and confront him, and he then personally did my tires properly.

The first spin actually gives them a prediction of the improvement indexing the tire to wheel will achieve. And they just skip it. The young guys are not actually trained on full use of the machine.
It’s pathetic. Huge difference when done right.

That's quite educational. Thanks for the details, I plan to possibly use this data (with them) in a future visit.

It is hard to tell with them mounted, but I looked underneath the truck. The backside of the tires appears the same as the outward facing side.

There is a difference between ‘road force matching and ‘road force balancing’. I know it sounds like just semantics, but they are taking advantage of this and not giving customers what they are paying for. Ask them if they do ‘road force matching’ before they start. And watch them skip indexing the tire to the wheel. They will claim that below a certain threshold it doesn’t matter, but it does.

Never ever let them use a metal scraper for old weight removal. It scratches the wheel finish. They should always use plastic on an alloy finished wheel.
Another Thing I don’t like is they will use 2 guys and two machines for the job.
Now you get inconsistent work. One guy is precise, cleans the old adhesive and places the weights straight. The other guy is sloppy And doesn’t.
Or worse they swap machines during the process. The machine has a memory and the indexing and balancing needs to be done on the same machine. But this is what gets pushed on you these days.

Although not seeing it (then) through those eyes, I do know about the "2 guys" approach. On my new wheels, I asked for black weights on the new black wheels. One guy dit it...the other didn't.

Again, I will be using this learning from now on.

Wonder if these will last the 50k
I'm not counting on the "55K warranty" or whatever they are advertising...I'm pragmatic to a fault when it comes to tires, wipers, and other disposables, though.

YMMV

Just a hell of a price on those tires.

I'm just hoping they come out with more sizes, 305 is just a little too big but the other sizes are practically stock.

The Pirelli scorpion does look better though
