Hi!

I am a serial car flipper...I currently have a Bronco Raptor and the flash has worn off. I see the Lightning as super practical and fun vehicle for hauling my family around. The issue I have is my son loves my 'monster truck' and 4 year old him will be very annoyed...

I am likely making the move this weekend. I have another open air car in my garage so i wont be without that but has anyone else come from a bronco into this? I miss my old f150's for the space with 2 active kids and my outdoor and sports life.'

Thanks!

Well you said you miss your old f-150s for the space with 2 active kids and your outdoor and sports life so it seems like you've answered your own question.

But before you do anything rash you ought to consider whether an EV fits in your lifestyle. Your job, your commute, where you live, ability to charge at home/modify your home to accept a charger, insurance are some factors people typically consider. Most don't consider a 4 year-old's opinion as a factor but you do you!

I can charge at home. Already have it set up. My commute is 8 miles each way. My son's opinion was included in jest and how it was something funny I'd have to deal with. Insurance is flat. I've already considered the practical applications of switching to an EV. Perhaps I was asking too specific of a question or not clear enough when asking if anyone had come from a bronco to a lightning specifically.

No, I did not switch from a Bronco.

But, still... you can charge at home and your commute is 8 miles? You have 2 kids and you haul all the stuff that goes with 2 kids? Oh, my friend, you are gonna absolutely LOVE the Lightning.

Just me and the Mrs. and three dogs. But we have never regretted going full electric. It has fit our life style and travels without a hiccup.
See my signature for details.

Good luck and I’m sure you will not be disappointed.

sw engineering manager,
Just put a lift kit and big tires on the Lightning. Add a bull bar and some fender flares. Make your kid happy.
Suck it up on the range hit (sounds like you don't need the range for your commute anyways).
You will still come out ahead cost per mile vs. a comparably-equipped ICE truck.
