Is there a way to turn off/on a Ford Level 2 Pro charging station using the app. Some articles say it's doable but I have not found a way to control it. Comments?

There is no switch on the FCSP, nor a functionality in the app. As soon as it is connected to the grid it is on. The only way I know to turn it off is to flip the breaker.
Now what is your need of turn it off/on? You would want to keep the FCSP on in order to maintain that connectivity with the FORD server and your Ford app. Useful for station update and charging data flow.

My charger is outside my house. Is there a way to at least lock to prevent usage by someone while i am not at home?

I don't believe someone other than you can use your charger. That person would have to have the station added to their account by using your wifi connection. So unless your home internet is not secured or you share access in the app it shouldn't be a problem.

No, there is no way to lock the FCSP. Once it's enabled, anyone can plug in and use it.

The FCSP does not require internet access to function. Once it's powered up, it's usable by anyone.

Hum... so you are saying setting it up in the app was just to enable stats? I could have just plugged it after installation and it would charge the truck?

You use the term “pro” in your question, but there are two different Ford-branded “pro” charging solutions.

The Ford Charge Station Pro is a consumer-level 80A charging station. This does not allow you to control access to the EVSE without either flipping the breaker or putting on some kind of lock.

The Ford Pro AC Charging Station is a fleet-level 48A or 80A AC charging station. This allows RFID-managed charging, but is typically not intended for consumers.

That is correct. Internet access provides stats and firmware updates.

Great post. People make up names without understanding there are multiple chargers. In addition, there is the Ford Connected Charge Station (48amps) and the Ford Mobile Charger (32 or 30amps depending on the vehicle it came with).

None except the commercial version and the Ford Connected Charge Station are able to be locked out for others.

Another reason for people to consider INTELLIGENT chargers from other companies, which often can easily be set to not provide a charge.

Well I learned something today. Are all EVSE the same?

No, there are not.

Some are faster (up to 80amps), some are 48, 40, 32, 24...

Some have intelligence and data. Some are dumb. Many intelligent EVSEs allow you to lock them (software) quite easily.

I thought the FCSP was considered a smart station. My question was more about the capability of locking a station.

It should be smart enough to have that functionality but they didn’t implement it. Go Ford! That said, reducing the charge rate in the app to 6 amps will basically
Make it a level 1 charger, which for our trucks is about 1% an hour. You can get that plugging into my outside outlets with your own mobile charger if you really want it.
