Why does my charger do this?

About every 2-3 weeks, my charger will end up in this state. It will not charge until I unplug, and replug. However, that is all it takes to 'reset' it. It just started doing this maybe 2 months ago. Has anyone seen this?

I have seen this once or twice, also in the last month or 2, but I am not sure what the cause was. I just joined this group last night and I will reply back if I hear or figure out what the cause of this is.

The amber light usually means it has detected an overheat condition. In most cases, it’s a false error and the charger needs replaced. It should be warranty, but some have reported that their dealer won’t honor itt.

What is a good back-up mobile charger like this Ford one? Has to be a cheaper alternative. Would like it to have 110 plug as well.

I had to have mine replaced at the dealer last month. It lasted about 5-6 months before it would constantly de-rate the charge due to “temp”

A good one is the Tesla adapter. Mainly because you can purchase about 8 different pig tails for whatever electrical source you have.

When I got the mobile charger, I read the instructions and noted that it said to not let the charger hang from the outlet.
I see your charger is not mounted and is hanging. Could be as simple as that.
