I heard some rumblings on Facebook. So I went and checked my trucks.

I have a SR PRO and my wife has an SR XLT

We both have the Sync 4 system and there is a new app called CHARGE ASSIST.
It integrates chargers from several different networks, some of which you can activate from the truck and pay for with your FordPass linked credit card.

Here are some screenshots of that.

Long day at work today, but I am going to go out and try it tomorrow and see if it actually works.

Some people say it is early access, but we are not in that program and it just showed up on our trucks and we didn't have any software updates recently.

sweet, it's about time we had the 'on board' activation, versus using the FordPassApp... as long as both work, it's the best of both worlds : )

yep, mine shows now, too... it may have been there for some time, but since I don't do 'apps' too often, who knows....nice to have if it works : )

It was JUST brought out of early access to general release

Interesting, seems to be half way speedy. Are they really pulling live up to the minute data to populate with? Interesting that it isn't part of navigation, but I guess small steps. Truly may be best that way because I won't use the built in navigation anyway with CarPlay available.

So how did they populate this one? I'd ask if it was buried in another release, but I happen to know @LUXMAN has not had a SW release on his Pro since June, and many other Pro owners report the same.

So there is valid truck communication and updates for them of sorts behind the scenes.

Actually. If you press the blue button, that tells you how far away it is, it does route you there via Ford’s NAV. I know you don’t like that, but it works.

sure it is not part of the nav to begin with. But at least you can go someplace you want to go.

I wonder if it would show up for activation if you went to a charger that was on your route🤔
I may have to check this tomorrow as well

I guess I didn't go that far. Thanks. Another report I read noted it was not integrated with Nav, so I made a bad assumption. I guess if you are on a route, it is not displaying this info to make an informed decision about stopping for a charge. You have to come out of the Nav to see what your options are.

Interesting. Would be nice if it could recognize any of the passes purchased for the various charging providers or allow you to purchase them through ford.

I guess if you want to go someplace else that it did not route you to. But you’ll be searching through an app or other choices on the Ford screen anyway when that happens and at least this puts the stations that are closest to you right there on the screen

Exactly. Because if you have an EA account, Ford doesn’t know that and charge you the full rate, as if you didn’t have one. And just because of that, I disabled plug and charge.

I did the same and have been using the EA app to start my charges from the screen in the truck. Best of both worlds really.

I don’t think it is. Sure you go through the app and then it routes you. But it’s not on the NAV itself as far as I know (haven’t used it since it first came out) so they might have fixed it.

This is good to know, hopefully communications will have an email or something promoting it soon to the general population!!

I just confirmed that it's on my Lariat Sync 4A as well
