This is what I’m seeing on my app. Is yours not this way?

Level 1. Ewwwww...But in all seriousness I see the same thing, except in dark mode.

Ford F-150 Lightning Stopping charge through app? 1765478651830-j8

If charging, it'll say stop charging, if not, it'll say start charging. iOS 6.3.0
After reading the rest of the thread, you can push the glowing button on the truck to stop charging. You can also push the handle button to stop but I'd wait until you hear the relay click before pulling, especially if it's drawing more than a kW or 2.

The J1772 standard requires power cutoff within milliseconds of pressing the latch. Power should be off before you hear anything.

It's definitely less than a second to the relay click, but it's also a perceptively long time, so I'd rather just wait. Never know if the relay fails and in what position. Well I guess you'd know it failed in open since it wouldn't charge. If tech were 100% reliable, it would take over every aspect of our day to day lives. Oh wait....

In order to meet the standard, power is interrupted by a solid-state switch. The electro-mechanical disconnection is secondary.

Tech is more likely to take over if it’s not 100% reliable! 😂

I wait until after I hear the clicks before pulling the plug, too. Even though I know it’s unnecessary….human nature.

I always push the little button next to the charge port. Obviously not ideal like from your app sitting inside your home. I also do this when DCFC, just hit the button before actually disconnecting the cable.

While charging, when you then click on Stop Charging, it will stop that process, but MAY resume charging at any point, so if you don't want it to you should unplug it, or ensure your charging limit is set to the right SOC%.

Yes. When I plug in at night, I usually hit the stop button in the app, but early the next morning, the charging always starts back up but I never set a time for it to restart. I often wonder why it starts back up by itself instead of staying off.

Because it's not an OFF button, it's a STOP CHARGING NOW button.

Ok. So my issue is I plug in at night. Then I have my departure scheduled for the morning and it heats the cabin. Once the pre conditioning is complete, the truck continues to charge. In this scenario the app just says Cabin temperature met. It doesn’t show it as charging in the app but it obviously still is because the blue rings are blinking and I can hear it. As long as it’s safe to just pull out while charging I guess there’s no issue, I thought I read somewhere on here that it’s not recommended to do that
You’re seeing the blue lights because the truck is drawing power from the plug to precondition the battery and prepare the cabin. It’s not necessarily charging the truck. At least that’s the way I understand it.

Exactly, the amount of energy sent during preconditioning or remote start or departure timed cabin warming phase is just enough to power the PTC & DC/DC converter to keep the 12v LVB charged and powering active 12 systems (circulator pump, etc). at the very most you might see a tiny increase to the HVB SOC by about 1%.

:cwl: :cwl: Yes, I have somehow managed to survive since July on the level 1. 50 miles a day, 6 days a week. I slowly lose the charging battle and usually have to top it back off at a level 3 near my shop. BUT...today my Grizzl-E 48A Ultimate gets here! Hopefully my electrician can get it installed next week. 🤞

Yeah, I was noticing this the other day at a Tesla Supercharger. I decided not to stay until I hit the 90% limit I'd set. I was looking for the "Stop Charging" button on the FordPass app and also on the truck's charging page. I ended up adjusting the target charge to the current charge and stopped it that way. Is that really the only way to stop the charge, other than punching the button next to the cable?
