So I’m thinking I have some problems with the APIM maybe? Can I PMI the APIM?

I don't think I trust the results of that scan.
Depending on what's going on with the truck, you can get different results from back to back scans.

On occasion I would shut down the truck, open/close the door, close FDRS.

Then I'd start all over. I'd also turn on accessory power and wait a few seconds before running a scan, giving all the modules onboard an opportunity to finish any handshakes or collaboration.

When they are purple they have lost the software. That is not good. Do Not try anything with the IPMA. Each of those have their own firmware and they are missing it. If you hover over them it will say no DTC ability or something like that.

Well… this has been eventful. I just dropped it off at the dealer. They’ll have to figure that out as I have no idea what to do. I’ll update once known.

Does anyone have a link or download for VX Manager 1.8.4? I saw a post early on that said they installed it and then did an upgrade and didn't have the virus issues. (Post 23 had a link to a "clean" 1.8.6 but the link isn't valid either)

This is a good link. It will install 1.8.4. From within 1.8.4, you can update to 1.8.6 without issue. That’s how I did it.

So I downloaded that version and Microsoft Defender flagged it too - "Win32/Bladabindi!" (severe).
The 1.8.6 was a "low" threat, I might just stick with it

I ran a few errands today and I've had my USB stick plugged in for a bit over a month now. Come home, unloaded but left the truck out front.

Went to move it and I was greeted with "Do Not Remove USB" drive and the USB light was flashing away. Quickly checked the Sync version and it was reporting 20312. Haven't seen that in ages!

After it was done doing its thing it asked for the restart. Going to give it a healthy 15-30 minutes and hopefully I don't move into the reboot loop of craziness.

Only took a month!

Trying to decide if I should wait a bit to see if the OTA's start coming again and then I'll probably re-up a new sub so I can start poking around again.

Wish we could discover EXACTLY what condition triggers the sudden recognition of the update on the stick. That's just crazy. You KNOW it's something that changes something.

Now that 2.5.1 has arrived, anyone seen the modules to update show up for them on FDRS. I checked earlier but nothing.

I couldn't agree more. I wish there was some sort of log file that we can pull from vehicle. God forbid if they stuck a 128 gb ssd that logged the activity.

Over 4hrs of putzing, got a handful of modules done and it got a sync updated.
