Lightning sales report for Q1 2025

Followed this yesterday: Temp plate brodozer with a real novice driver. Looked to be a gasser by the sound of the exhaust & brown color when the driver got on it. Such a dinosaur. With $4.50/gal gas, and those tires.. going to cost a pretty penny to own. Yet guys will do that to roll with their crowd. While I briefly thought about demonstrating e-torque application, it’s simply not me to waste 2 cents (literally).

This is the same image vehicle as say a Raptor. And I followed one of those through a tunnel and about died laughing when he got on the gas with the turbo V6.

The wife and I are agreed. Never buy an ICE again. But it is a radical consumer choice despite consumers having many battery operated devices but can’t wrap their head around a BEV, deal with charging at home/on the road, etc.

Our local Ford dealer always has a wheel-tire-suspension package F150 on showroom floor ‘cause it’s “a thing” here on the coast.

Makes the average-discreet looking Lightning feel true 21st Century.

The problem is EV battery tech, charging, cost are not in line with what ICE has to offer. 150k a year is decades away

I think Ford is still working on the future with BEV vehicles just maybe not the F-150 size vehicle?? Not entirely sure about that and hopefully they will!!

Pretty dismal, but not surprising given the CyberTruck, the new GM trucks (with much longer range which some people want/need), and Ford basically saying "this is it until 2028".

Dismal but still outselling the CT and GM twins. As sad as it is, it’s still kinda the best thing out there.

Coin holder (will just be a hole)
Center console spring

The following items will now require Fordpass Plus+ Connectivity Monthly or Yearly plans:
Heated seats and steering wheel
Auto climate and fan speeds 5-7
Phone Ass A Key (PaaK)

It was the first year of any type of serial delivery (yes, they delivered a few in 2023) so of course volume will be high(er).

It's only now, that all the diehards and instafamous/vloggers and what not has already gotten theirs, that you'll see the true demand.

I have to agree, the CT was a new model with highly pent up demand. If the Lightning can outsell it in Q1 of 25 that is a HUGE win.

IMO Ford did really well here. The Equinox and the Prologue did well, but those are very new. To have the sales they did with the very mature Mach-E and Lightning platforms is great.

Truthfully, the Lightning is the only real truck of the bunch. It’s no contest.
