No EV routing in Google maps

Unfortunately, no. The recall was done but they said "their computers just went round and round" and told me to call back the first of the week. I did so and have another appointment on 15 July. I will give them the benefit of the doubt that they tried but that might be charitable.

Interestingly, I do have karaoke. But no EV routing in AA. could it be my phone?

It's unfortunate that EV adoption is hamstrung by charger infrastructure and the ability to use it. Little competition, questionable software, no easy access, additional dependance due to limited range and more expensive than fossil fuels truly limit road tripping and EV use where home charging is not feasible. I held out until Tesla supercharging became available. While a vast improvement, it was not as much as I suspected.

I'm still a believer and hope that Ford can give me what they say they can.

I got my '24 truck back from the dealer after pointing them towards TSB 25-2105, and after them having it for 24 hours I got my truck back and I now have the karaoke and the Google Maps EV routing!

I was hoping that they would go crazy and do a bunch of other updates like the ability to change the amperage when on a Level 1/2 charger but that wasn't the case. Either way I am happy I can now use Google Maps EV routing instead of the built in navigation.

I suppose my S 10 may be the problem. If kerioke came with that same update ...... I do have it. That's the trouble with things like this truck? truck software? Phone? phone software? Who knows?

Thought I'd update this. Went to the dealer asking that they update the truck. They kept it in the back then asked me to drive it to customer parking. An employee that owns a Lightning got in with me saying he would fix the google nav. After about 30 min, he gave up. He owns a Lightning but uses an Apple phone.

I hate to say it. but I have to give up. I have karioke but not walk away lock. I have not had an OTA update since 19 May. It was the 12v battery protection. I have updated all the involved software, talked to Ford ad nausium and taken it to the dealer. I see no way

Since I last posted this I started researching route planning in the Lightning and I believe now that the problem is indeed my phone. One of the videos mentioned that android 14 is required. I researched my antique S10e and found that it is incapable of being updated to Android 14, indeed it can't go beyond 12.

I wish Ford in their notification of android auto planning had included the requirement for android 14. It would have saved me, Ford and my dealer hours of work.

I don't like it ..... but I understand. My aged phone is an outlier among, particularly, EV owners

Sadly that is not my issue. Rolling a Pixel 9 Pro with android 16.

I have a 25 Flash (bought June 30) and my Samsung 23S will not integrate EV routing via google and android auto. If I go to our 25 Mach E, it works just fine. This tells me it is some update that the Lightning does not have. Does anyone have this working on their truck?

Many people do (but not me). Seems like there was an update that enabled it but if your truck did not get that update the update that superseded it did not enable it
