Morning y'all, hoping one of the dealer gurus or any guru familiar with programming can answer a question for me.

I've updated all modules that said had one available except for one that keeps failing.

The module in question is labeled SECONDARY OBDMC, every time I try it kicks back it failed.

Any clues on why that may be? Not having any issues at all just my OCD is killing me knowing a module isn't up to date lol.

Was a P1-10A or something like that and all it said was failed to update SOBDMC and asked if I'd like to try again which I did and got the same fail.

Like a dummy I didn't write it down and already picked up all my tools and equipment, at this point in time it's just a curiosity more than anything. I realize the exact code is needed to dig into the wsm diag charts. Was kind of hoping the issue was a common one, I will also add, after the failure, the truck would not start and had a red truck icon with an exclamation point right thru the middle right side of cluster..

I disconnected the 12v batt and cleared that so the truck will now start and I also have to wonder if this failure was due to me not having both programmed keys with me as it stated that "Many modules are involved" with that programming action.

Post or send Jesse the VIN. The reason why it failed will appear in vehicle history on the date you attempted to update it.

Ok then I believe I found the problem. The code is or shall I say was U0594, I have since cleared it and it hasn't come back and I think I know why it set that code along with the red truck icon with exclamation point thru it. When I was updating the modules, I forgot to turn off the ac.

The reason the programming failed to begin with was because I didn't have a fob in the slot so it kicked back a security error as well. I went back in and rechecked and the same module wanted updating so I put the key in the slot and it went thru with no further issues.

I created the issue ugh,.. lol.

All modules up to date, system clear of all codes.

Did you have many modules to update on your 2025 coming off your dealer's lot?

Just 3. Secondary obd module, frunk, and something to do with the abs iirc.

stupid question, is the only option to perform updates yourself or have people been successful going to their dealers?

Dealer isn't going to do it without $$$$$. Depending on how far behind you are, you could be looking at 8+ hrs of updates. Doubt there's much out there for 25's atm but I'm sure there are 22/23's floating around that are 20+ updates behind.

Typically updates are handled by your dealer. I am an ex Ford dealer tech with the proper equipment to do it myself.
