Has anyone had their 12 volt battery fail while getting the reprogramming recall performed at the dealership? My 2022 lariat lightning was being reprogrammed by the Tech at the Ford dealership, after 1st step of programming truck shut down totally due to the 12v Battery only having 8 cold cranking amps, instead of 330CCA. Did the programming kill the cells or does the battery only have a 34 month/39,500 mile lifespan?

Sounds like they can't read directions and didn't have a power supply hooked up. Those updates can pull 60 amps+ and the techs have a habit of not following procedures. Quite a few 12v have bit the dust.

Hey folks, can anyone tell me what the warranty is on the battery the 12 V battery and I’m already coming up to three years so I wanna be proactive and replace it. Anyone have any recommendations of a good battery to replace it with?

There have been other scattered reports of techs mis-connecting to the battery and have havoc result.

From previous posts, they should either use the jump posts under a panel on the passenger side of the Frunk or like this (the blue circles not the red x's):

The original battery is 36 months / 36,000 miles.

I had both my Mach-E and my Lightning batteries tested just before the warranty ended. Mach-E passed, Lightning failed. Brand new battery put in for free, under warranty, with 3 weeks left in the 3 year period.

Most dealerships will test your battery for free on their machine. Mine has it in their service drive-in area so they don't take up a bay while it's sitting, sometimes for hours.

I'm shocked, pun intended they actually go the full 3/36 on batteries, they were complete free replacement 12/12 back in my dealer days, then prorated out to 3/36. good to know Ford is actually helping people on that because 12v lead acid batteries are a crapshoot.

Replaced the one in my 2013 @ 9 months due to faulty BMS in the truck, disconnected it and got about 1.5 years from the replacement, 3rd battery lasted about 3.5 years, and am still running on the 4th.
