After 4-5 different versions of a 3D-printet mount I finally got something that I will try on the vehicle.

It replaces one of the hexagons, so easy enough to remove the backside of the correct one (when I figure out which). I belive the lower wall of the hexagon needs some trimming as well, if so, I will make a jig for that.

This is printed at the lowest quality as fast as possible, and not finished any way. Just prototyping.

Very interested in this when you make a final product!

It's a very cool idea, but you are going to have to cut out the bottom of the hexagon that you remove, to get the angle of the camera similar to factory default

I did mount the camera and grill today. And the bottom of the hexagon needs to be trimmed, and more than I thought.

Keeping the original angle of the camera, and cutting only one hexagon, will limit the viewing angle achievable because the body of the camera hits the grill itself. I will trim some more tomorrow and see if its acceptable.

Been there, done that bro. I feel ya.

If only the camera shaft was about 1/2 inch longer.

How are you guys wiring up the lights? I don’t want to cut a hole in my fuse box without knowing it will survive 10 years of water and salt.

Milling out a trench for the camera might get a better view. It will extend the camera 3-4 mm further out. But careful to not mill all the way through the grill.

I ended up pulling it through the firewall and using fuse 35 in the interior fuse box.

That's a lot of work when you have a whole slew of fuses right there.
Yes, it was some work. But as long the vehicle is under warranty I would like to keep my fuse box waterproof and untouched.

The climate here results in the cars being soaked in water and salt from November through March.

I made the hole just big enough for the wire. Then once inside the water channel of the fuse box, I had it turn the corner to enter though second wall at a different spot.

A dab of silicone could be added at both spots if you plan on driving underwater.

I certainly think that's the least of the worries as far as water getting in.

Next I have to align my light bar
Did you ever attempt this?

Open frunk, turn passenger side bump stop clockwise a few full turns and driver side, a few counter-clockwise half turns (based on what I'm seeing in pics).

Close frunk, inspect, then open, rinse and repeat with half-turns until horizontal alignment satisfies.

When I did this, I also saw more uniform hood to fender lines on top edges of each side.

Any pics you could share? I have no idea what you're referring to and want to try it.

Grabbed a snapshot on that YT guy that removes his frunk tub. This is the passenger side, of course (you do not need to remove the plastic access liners/clips to do this).

May have to use channellocks for first turn but can then do by hand.

Clockwise = lowers
Counter-clockwise = raises

Found a driver-side view with liners/clips still in place.
