I don't know if it fits this category but when I picked up my Flash from the dealer while waiting for them to finish up the paper work, I couldn't get ford pass to recognize the new truck or some such error I can't remember, I had ford pass from my older non connected truck for quick access to the owners manual etc... What I did to correct it was uninstall the app, then sign up again with a different email address and that fixed it. Lots of free accounts out there one can use, gmail, yahoo, etc... or just sign up with a new user name@currentemail
Thanks, sadly this app has never been connected to a car before. It appears like the original owner has put a security lock on it before selling it. No one knows how to unlock it and Ford refuse to contact to the original owner owner due to gdpr 😔

Are you referring to Ford, as in local dealer or Corporate? I cant imagine there isn't a Corporate Ford process for new owner to prove new title/vehicle sale in order to reset this on their end.

Both Ford UK and the dealership. I’ve proved ownership (ironically through v5 that’s states it doesn’t prove ownership) but they can’t seem to force reset it.

I had a similar problem because I had initially set up FordPass on a smart phone but changed to a tablet. The problem was they had different email addresses, so I had to authorize the tablet from the smart phone - took me a while to figure that out.

So I think one way to solve it would be to get the old owner to authorize you as the new owner, if possible.

But if that isn't possible, like others say you should contact Ford USA and get them to tell Ford UK to authorize the ownership change.

Truck thieves have probably figured out a way to thwart the security that is causing the problem.

In general locks just keep thieves out until they find a way around them.

I finally got a modem and FordPass is working now. But I forgot to test the reset function.
