I'm strictly PAAK and had a realization the other day. What if the 12v died with the truck locked? Mine has the keypad so I can unlock the door even with a dead phone and use the start-up code (have had to a couple times) but I'd be up the creek with a dead 12v. Think I'll just have an extra key cut to carry or hide so I can still avoid carrying the fob.
That's easy, just carry your FOB in a faraday bag and hide it in your centre console as a back up. It's what I do with mine so it's there if I need it but I never have to actually carry it with me. Faraday bags are cheap on amazon or just wrap your fob in tin foil to block the signal.

That doesn't work if you can't get in the truck. :cwl:

Doesn't the physical key inside the FOB unlock the door even if the 12V battery is dead? From there, you can pull the frunk latch and either replace or jump start the 12V battery...

Edit_Update: But I agree, a FOB won't do you any good if you've locked it inside your truck, unless you're going to break some glass!

Bought my truck June last year and never noticed that button down there but I've got it, when pushed it brings up this.

Additional setting takes you over to the driver assist menu where parking sensors and others are toggled on/off.

If I click navigate to parking it just brings up the nav menu.
So it looks like they left the button in the 24's and 25's. Yes I also get that Nav option PLUS another one that says Active Park Assist. It gives you several options:

1. Parallel: If you're driving down a street and turn your right blinker on, it will look for a space to parallel park, then once you put the truck in neutral, it will take over and parallel park the truck in that spot.

2. Perpendicular: If you are driving down a parking row and turn on either blinker, it will search for an empty spot in that direction. Then once it finds one and you shift into neutral, it will back into the spot.

3. Exit Parallel: If you are in a parallel spot, it can get you out.

In all cases you hold down that same button while it does its thing.
Here's a video:

I wonder why they left the button there instead of reassigning it to something helpful that would benefit from an actual hardware button.

Dunno, I'm hopeful it can be activated via forscan.

- Active Park Assist - Deleted from the '24 Lightnings
- Wireless Charger - No, the charger is very slow and heats the phone up terribly
- Sirius XM - I don't pay for this service as I have so many better options on my phone
- Bluecruise - No, trial is up and I wouldn't pay a dime for this deathtrap software
- Lane Keep Assist - No, it's performance is terrible, though less dangerous than BlueCruise.
- Bed Scale - Deleted from the '24 Lariat, so no experience
- Trailer Guidance - No, I've been backup up trailers for over 40 years with no problems
- Built-in Route Planner - No, Ford Nav is terrible. Waze and ABRP FTW.
- Infotainment - Yes, a few times. I generally charge where there are other things to do, so I don't hang in the truck.
- PAAK - Yes, love this. Haven't carried a FOB in my pocket since I bought my '21 MYP
- Numeric Keypad on Door - Yes. I use this regularly and like having the feature.
- Zone Lighting - Yes, but not much. Played with it a few times, but haven't really had a need for it.
- Record Feedback - Haven't tried it yet.

Every technology has it achilles heel. I don't carry my fob, so I made a spare key and hid it on the truck for just this scenario. I keep a small booster pack in the frunk and have put a quick-connect cable on the battery on the correct side of the BMS sensor so when (not if) this issue rears its ugly head I'll be back on the road in minutes.

Teslas have a different challenge as there is no keylock on the vehicle at all, but there are wires behind the tow hook cover that you can use to manually pop the frunk if the 12V battery dies. So, instead of hiding a key, I hide a 12V A23 battery in a baggie. (Note you can't pop the frunk via the wires if the 12V battery is good.)

I wish I had Phone As A Key or Passive Entry. My 2022 XLT doesn't have either. Coming from a 2013 Camry that had passive entry, it's actually one of the things I hate the most about the truck. It boggles my mind that Ford couldn't include this cheap technology in the truck.

I'm in and out of the vehicle a lot throughout the week. It's a huge difference being able to just open up the handle and enter versus fumble for the key fob/key to unlock and then enter. One of the things I'm thinking about upgrading is doing the passive entry mod with the Bronco handles so that I can get this function.

- Active Park Assist - Don't know what this is...
- Wireless Charger - Don't use at all
- Sirius XM - Don't use any subscription based services
- Bluecruise - Don't have on my XLT
- Lane Keep Assist - Use, but it doesn't seem like it works all the time
- Bed Scale - Use occasionally
- Trailer Guidance - Don't have a trailer or tow with this vehicle
- Built-in Route Planner - I use ABRP and PlugShare to route plan, so don't use this function
- Infotainment - When charging I don't really use it other than to listen to music on carplay while I play with my phone
- PAAK - ABSOLUTELY WISH I HAD THIS ON MY VEHICLE!!!
- Numeric Keypad on Door - I don't even know how this is a thing? It's significantly slower to enter a numeric keypad entry than to just click on the keyfob, or better yet if you had passive entry/PAAK...
- Zone Lighting - I use it in the winter when I'm around the truck working and it get's dark
- Record Feedback - I just saw this a week ago and never really used.
I bought XM for life in 2008. Transferred to 2 different vehicles, now on my 24 Flash. Works great, and even includes the new channels - no cost except when I transfer it. Wish I would have bought it for my other vehicles at the time.

Couple things. Assuming I have phone as a key option with my 25 flash, how do I set it up? Also instead of cutting another key, can't I just take a key out of the fob and hide it somewhere around the frame or bed? What I liked about my 2000 f150 is the under bed rails near the back tire were open with a hole in the bottom and I could slide a key on a wire down into the rail out of sight and bend the wire to keep it in. Thanks.

Was researching Park assist. Found this on the gen 14 f150 forum about "Can active Park assist, etc.". Just read pages 28 to 31 and particularly posts 408 and 441 and others. Apparently there is a module you can buy that can be sent to a Jesse who can program it and then there are some forscan and computer changes. Also need to buy additional sensors and maybe a wiring harness. May need to drill holes in the bumper covers. I can't really tell but I'm sure someone else here would understand it all.

From what I gather, Ford dropped park assist and other stuff during the microchip shortage which kinda explains things like why the dash button is still there.
