It is likely one of your cables isn’t seated fully. Try rotating the connections on both ends of the long USB C cable 180 degrees and make sure they are plugged in all the way.
Thanks! That worked (2025 F150 Lightning). Rotated a few connections around, nothing changed. Then I rotated the small USB-C to USB-C extender in the Comma4 sliding dock, and that did the trick! Just did a calibration drive.

Different topic - the Comma was abandoning turns all the time; beep beep beep then tell me to take over, throwing the car into the other lane. Is that typical? "Turn Exceeds Steering Limit." Is there some F150 setting or branch that fixes these tolerances and is customized for the steer torque?

Is Comma only safe on straight stretches with extremely mild turns like highways? Fine if that's the way it is, as it is likely still better than BlueCruise, but I'm curious to know the limits. I was very surprised at how often it abandoned turns.

Comma has absurdly low safety limits. It will handle almost all highway driving, but surface streets will be hit or miss.

if you are running bluepilot then the torque bar at the bottom should show you how close to you are to the current limits.

No lightning shows as compatible on commas site either. ICE F-150s are encrypted with tron as are most of their recent vehicles. But that doesn’t change the fact that the lightings are not encrypted. Feel free to read through this thread to see multiple users with a 2025 with the comma installed.
2025 here and runs great on bluepilot, as far as sunnypilot goes is the lightning supported now? May need to SSH in and add your own fingerprint. I know with Bluepilot the 2025 fingerprint wasn't there so I added it manually.

They are supported (unofficially) the lightnings have CAN termination issues with the stock comma harness, but they all work with the coupler in place. I don’t do any work on Bluepilot anymore, but @Ajzride may be able to answer the finger printing.

You can still force your fingerprint manually, but on the C4 it has to be done from the sunnlylink website, no ability to do it locally on device.

Assuming you can just force it to whatever lighting models are already there instead of having to add a fingerprint for the 25 specifically though?
Maybe I misunderstood what he’s asking, but I took it as him saying there is not an option for the 25.

oh, yea. Just choose any lightning. They are all the same as far as comma is concerned.

How did you get a fingerprint to upload? I just used the sunny pilot pairing interface to select “Ford F-150 Lightning 2022-23”. Seems to work. Should I do something else for my ‘25?

Reading comments above. Sounds like I’m fine.. leave as is.

It will work set as a 22-23. Someone just needs to put in a PR to update it to include the 24s and 25s. It won’t affect how it controls or drives. Just won’t automatically fingerprint.

Yeah you should be good, pretty sure you don't lose anything by selecting manually.

But to answer your question, I logged into github, created a separate ssh key, uploaded it, and enabled github ssh access. @Ajzride implied that it no longer works so ymmv

Model - what model do people use for the lightning. I’m currently on Default with Bluepilot (bp-c4-basic), and read that WD40 was great, but then it looks like it might be from 2024?

Model age isn’t a huge indicator of quality. I preferred FoF liquid crystal on my lightning. But there may be a new recommendation now.

Someone from either Discord or the F150gen14forum.com recommended the North Dakota model, another "legacy" model like WD40. I tried North Dakota after using WD40 for a long time and I like ND better. It's super smooth like WD but for me it stays centered much better. WD40 would always bias towards the right side of the road for me. Give ND a try while you're experimenting.
