Got this one that tried but failed last night. First 2024 I've seen this PT update sent to. No idea why it failed

Ironically just got it done yesterday. Also they checked the 12v health and was at 100% so don't think that contributed to update failure.

Nice! I got my recall done yesterday too. I’ll keep an eye out for this OTA now.

Sometimes having a dealer manually do updates unclogs things. It seems that updates have dependencies and updating one module makes others become available.

Last updates truck got was in November I got 3. I got on the the 21st to get the recall done.

Is your update window before or at the same time as your charge window? If so, try scheduling your update an hour or two after your charge window opens. This will allow the truck to fully charge the 12v while your HVB is charging. That will give you a solid charge on the 12v for the update window (assuming your HVB charging takes an hour or more).

I do not have the recall but I received the update yesterday.

I’m with you mine constantly says 12 V battery low will try again later. I had the truck on a trickle charger and charge from 40 to 100% and still won’t update there’s something going on.

Mine updated on Monday... I noticed the efficiency has gone up usually it takes 4% to get to work now it only takes 1% they did something.. also running 3.0kw per mile instead of 2.2?

12v battery could still be weak and unable to maintain enough charge, all too common in the Lightnings due to their 12v BMS methodology.

Might (probably is) time for a new battery (warranty claim).

Had the same update and same result yesterday. I'm almost certain it was the 12v in my case. Was on level 2 for 8 hours at work yesterday and the update popped up when I got home. Checked Car Scanner and battery showed about 95% so figured I should be good, right? Wrong. Checked the truck a while later only to see the dreaded Not Completed message and the 12v sitting around 60%. Truck even gave the Stop Safely Now message but was able to start fine. Charged the 12v overnight.

Fast forward to this afternoon and check the software updates page to see that the XM update was downloading. Had installed by the time I got back to the truck with my power supply and the powertrain update was now showing as downloading. Set the power supply to my usual FDRS voltage of 14.1 and hit update now. Took about 9 minutes to install but all was well this time around.
