Why won't it power up in the dock at my desk? I tried 3 different branded usb-c cables and when the Comma4 is in the dock, it won't power up. This is expected behavior?
yes. It’s very picky. with it in the dock I was only able to get it to power up from the charging cable I use for my Xbox controller attached to the Xbox itself.

no need for it to be docked anywhere other than the car.

Got my comma dock today and at my desk the comma powers on fine with any USBC cable plugged into the main port. When I add it to the dock sled, it still powers on fine with same cable (Apple USB-c) but when the sled is put into the dock, it will no longer power up. I tried both the Apple USB-C and the long comma USB-c cable.

Is the 90deg adapter busted in the dock?
the coupler is designed for a 12v system. Indoor chargers are only 5V. Put it in the truck.

Looking for some help because I’m officially stumped.

Spent way too much time this evening installing a Comma 4 + official Comma Q4 harness + BluePilot 7.0 on my 2022 F-150 Lightning. BluePilot installed fine, but every time the Q4 harness is connected I get “Unknown Vehicle Variant” on the Comma, along with a cascade of ADAS faults (AdvanceTrac, Steering Assist, Blind Spot, Pre-Collision, etc.).

I spent hours reseating connectors, flipping the Lightning coupler, reinstalling BluePilot, and checking everything I could think of. Nothing changed.

As a sanity check, I removed the Q4 harness completely and restored the factory IPMA connection. Instantly, all the truck faults disappeared, which makes me think the issue is somewhere in the Q4 harness/coupler path rather than the truck itself.

I’m hoping/assuming I’m overlooking something obvious before I start replacing hardware. Any ideas are appreciated.
Did u bought the lightning coupler?

Installing BluePilot v7.0 on a Comma 4 that already has BluePilot v6.0.

Best practice is to remove the Comma 4 from your vehicle and bring inside your house/apartment where there is a strong wifi signal:
  • Factory Reset the C4 by going to https://flash.comma.ai/ on a computer
  • Connect the C4’s top port to USB power via a USB-C cable
  • Connect the C4’s bottom port (the one not normally used) to your computer via a USB-C cable
  • Click connect on the flash.comma.ai page
  • Select the C4
  • Click the CONNECT button.
  • Select the device it detected that starts with QUSB.
  • Wait for the web page to flash your C4. The C4’s screen will be dark and it will take up to 15 minutes to reset to factory conditions and reboot.
  • I had to pull the power from the top USB-C port and reconnect to get rid of the black screen.
  • When the C4 completes the reboot, select START on the C4 screen
  • Select SLIDE TO INSTALL CUSTOM SOFTWARE
  • Swipe left through all the warning notices and select NEXT
  • Swipe left on the connect to internet message and select wifi.
  • Select your SSID and enter your password.
  • Select CHOOSE SOFTWARE
  • Enter bit.ly/bp-70 and enter
  • C4 will download and install the new software.
  • I had to pull the power from the USB-C port and reconnect to get rid of the black screen.
  • After booting up, swipe left to the Sunnylink QR code.
  • Use your phone’s camera to scan the QR code.
  • Use Sunnylink to set the desired model and change to angle from curvature
Having problems scanning the QR code. Any advice on how to solve the problem of QR code not scanning?

Yep, re-tried last night and got everything working. Must have just had one of the usb-c cables or the coupler hooked up wrong. Was probably too riled up after finally getting the harness plugged in to be of the mindset to properly troubleshoot. Did the calibration drive last night, and then another drive today and all seems to be functioning ok at this point.

And there is the technical explanation for the problems I witnessed :p Bottom line, don't use the coupler outside the truck 🙂

This process didn't work for me, my C4 wasn't detected by my laptop. Is it because the C4 that I connected to computer was attached to the sliding dock, the sliding dock has the lightning coupler attached to it.
Any way I was able to install BluePilot 7 by repeatedly tapping the screen on C4 while booting, reset C4 to factory and installing BluePilot 7.

Yes as mentioned previously in this thread, the coupler (within the dock or on its own) is not meant to be used outside of connecting the comma to the harness in your truck.

Ran Dark Souls v2 over the weekend and it felt better; I still think in turns I'm drifting pretty close to sides (inconsistently).

Someone on discord mentioned TCPMv3 so I might give it a go before reverting to WD40.

Any news from others?

After doing the lateral tuning as described by Aj I am staying between the lines. Before tuning I was sometimes over the line. I went from wd-40- to the default to pop v2. nothing helped untill I did lateral tuning.

I've had a lot better luck now that the adhesive held

Did quite a few miles since Friday and had pretty good luck with DSv2. I agree, though- every now and again it was wanting to cross the line in turns, even when they were slower than turns it previously handled well on.

I bumped the high speed down a couple after my morning commute. I also am attempting the camera offset. It was just hugging the right a little to much for my comfort - will see how that goes. @BluesClues interested to know your thoughts if you switch

I notice that BluePilot 7 doesn't adapt to the road posted speed sign, unlike Bluepilot 6.
On the video, truck traveling at 55mph, passing a road speed sign at 65mph.

Mine does. I did disable BP7 long control and am using Ford's ACC native long control. I have had no issues using both WD40 and DarkSouls V2.
