Sorry to hear about your situation, “act of nature” break downs will and can happen to anyone, the problem is Ford is unable to service their vehicles. We all willing to pay one way or the other. Last week another truck were bought back by Ford far a very minor issue cause parts were unavailable. The funny thing is that Ford is advertising a new truck while abandoning the lightning. Good luck everyone. I think we screwed!

We have motion-detecting battery rechargeable LED light sticks in our closet. They run for a year w/o recharging, don't come on during the daytime -- so their use is very intermittent. A guy could stick one in Frunk -- and maybe even sneak one in the 12V battery compartment.

I haven't had my truck on lift to look underneath. I've seen some Youtube walk-arounds -- seems like 90%+ of the underside is enclosed. Can't someone come up some after-market cowling for the other 10%?

It's not just our trucks. Last year my wife's leased Cadillac has a momma squirrel not only move in, but she gave birth to a fairly large litter under the hood. No idea how long my wife was driving around with the family living under there, but we only discovered it when we had to have the cracked windshield replaced before turning the vehicle in. Glass guy said it was on us to move them before he'd replace the windshield. Pulled like six well-developed youngsters out of that nest and have photos of mom coming back for the one that hid in the crevices by the firewall for a few hours - I heard it and made sure it could get out. Only damage was a little bit of a chew on the fuse/relay cover.

Then this year, that same damn momma (I'm pretty sure!) started again on the wife's Buick. Got her out before she could give birth, but this time she chewed on some wires that Farm Bureau got to pay for on a comp claim... not long after paying out on the deer that ran out in front of her a mile from home.

your story gives me the shudders. We have a few chipmonks around our house I am trying to irradicate. I knew there were two of them and I got one trapped a couple months ago who won't be a problem any more. The other one doesn't show himself very often but last month I saw him sitting on my right front tire and it had me worried. So far no problems but actually only a few hours ago I spotted him and the hole he headed into. I had a partial bag of concrete left over from a mailbox replacement so I mixed up a half gallon a poured it into the hole, stuffing down the hole as far as I could. Fingers crossed he's stays in there.

I just got my truck back after replacing rodent chewed cables. That was nearly $5,000 and that followed a $1500 repair for chewed up coolant lines. I’ve lived in the same house for nearly 25 years with no similar problems. What’s changed you might ask? My last dog died a few years ago and my two 20+ yo barn cats recently met the same fate. My two new barn cats don’t hang around my shop and they don’t want any confrontations with raccoons. Rodent tape sounds like a good deal considering what I’ve been through but if there are other alternatives I would certainly appreciate hearing them.

I bought a roll and the technician said that he would wrap the harness (if it ever gets here) and any other exposed wires. I'm probably going to order another roll. When I saw it on Amazon, the roll looks big like a roll of duct tape but it a friggin optical illusion. The roll is not big at all.
