Get the basic kit with just the mains sensors to monitor only the EVSE charging.
Thanks for the info. That's inexpensive enough that I may do some more complex monitoring down the road...

Latest update is a nothing burger. They told me to delete my charging location settings but a recent update deleted them for me a couple of weeks ago and I haven’t reset them yet so….next suggestion please.

Your looking for an answer where there isn't one. The FCSP and it's integration with FordPass is just not good. It's a shame, but that's the reality of the situation. I've learned to just live with it, not worth the stress messing around with it.

If it is okay with you I am going to keep pestering them to fix their product. It isn’t causing me stress so that shouldn’t keep you awake at night

Why would I complain about that? I wish you all the luck in the world.

This morning I power cycled the FCSP to prepare it for this afternoon's session.

I expect energy flow at a normal 76/77 amp rate (set for 80) as it has over the past 3+ years.
As expected, after the power cycling of the FCSP, the yellow derate lamp is off and I'm getting next best performance from the EVSE, 96.25% is sufficient in my use requirements, it may not be perfect but realistically it is acceptable, we don't need moon-shot precision & performance.

Yesterday afternoon, I experimented with adjustability of the apm rate on the FCSP, short story ... it still is unpredictable with increasing the value after a reduction of the rate, just as the OP and others above have observed.

I lowered the rate to 48 amps, prior to plugging in, the value change took hold and stayed put through the bulk of the charging session. NOTE (the 10.3 kW DC vs. 11.3 kW AC is normal conversions losses)

As my SOC was approaching the 90% goal, I tried bumping the rate up while the session was still active as I've done in the past, but it would only hold for about a minute or so, then the rate would decrease to lower value.

Tried at 75 amps but it wouldn't hold for long

Tried 79 amps just under the peak value still wouldn't hold long.

End of session snap shots of amps & total kWh's consumed for an 80% to 90% charging session.

After unplugging, I returned the value to 80 amps yesterday afternoon.

Interesting that it would bump up and then drop. It should certainly support the 80 amps until 92-93%

Please note this issue is not related to high SOC tapering down process, the EVSE simply won't hold the requested bump up manually requested from the Ford App control panel of the FCSP settings screen.

I was charging 80 to 90%, I only see the safety related tapering at around 97+% SOC

This was todays 86 to 90% session at the 80 amp setting.

yeah, still odd that it acts like it takes and then says just kidding. If anything I figured it wouldn't even acknowledge the change which is what I got anytime I've tried changing it (up or down)

Latest update is Ford is sending me a replacement unit. Curious to see if the new unit has the same behavior. I imagine that it will..

It will perform similarly or slightly less with regards to 80 amps vs some slightly lower value, accept what comes of it and move on.

I’ll test the new one before returning the old one. If the new one is worse then I’m gonna keep the old one and send the new one back. Ford can keep working on the issue.

The replacement FCSP arrived today and after installation and setup in the app the software control of the Charge rate works as it should. I can lower the rate and raise the rate to the full 80 amp setting the station accepts the change and the amber light goes away. The station is still only pulling about 75.5amps but it isn’t locking up and reverting to a previous setting any longer.

How did you get a replacement from Ford? My FCSP also has a yellow light while charging, and when I finally talked to Ford they told me I had to wait for a software update and it was a known issue. I had to open the FCSP and d bump down the max current setting to keep it from tripping.
I’ve tried power cycling it several times to no avail
