Go pedal falling off 😱

Hey all, woman in distress! Go pedal is lose and has lots of play in it, looks like it is this 'screw/bolt' that is the culprit, but i don't really know! Need to drive 300 miles tomorrow and need to fix it - where do I start

That style of fastener is designed to grip the shaft with sprung force, the likely have it set loose to minimize binding, you may be able to force the retainer further to the right as viewed in the photo, but don't make it too tight.

Make sure the black module is fully seated on the bar. It looks like it has come out a bit in your pictures. Then push the spring lock on the rod as indicated by @TaxmanHog

An additional thought on this. This is a potentially dangerous condition where the accelerator could get stuck in the depressed position. If you fix it yourself, please be careful initially and be ready to bump into neutral or hit the Start button if something doesn't go as planned. Be safe.

You may want to send this detail to your dealer as a formal report, and if you can, have the dealer come out to fix it. That way it is tracked by Ford as an assembly problem.

Nah, that component is for the pedal height adjustment, it's merely a pin attached to the servo motor, the actual pedal pivots on a different point.

The op mentions the pedal is loose but that needs to be quantified. Is it loose side to side or fore and aft and how much play is there?

My pedal setup looks exactly the same and that pin is free to rotate.

I figured the looseness of the pin is intentional, hopefully tweaking it doesn't cause a bound condition and erratic throttle return.
