Finished the install of C4 but got a bunch of faults on boot. Service Advanctrac (bsm, parking etc)

I put the coupler in the right way so I’m a bit surprised. Any ideas?

flipping the connector caused the vehicle to become unknown - I assume I just try to force it as an F150?
What does the unknown message say? Unknown variant or Dashcam mode?

it said dashcam mode then I saw it say unknown variant

after flipping short side, it says dashcam mode.
Force the fingerprint to a lightning and you should be good to go.

Flipping it worked! Manually selected in Sunnylink.
Says sensors calibrating

edit: working! Just did a drive and it’s fine.
Thanks for all the help @Ajzride and @UncleTony

Resurfacing this since a few people have reached out — this seems more common on 2024s.

Some users are seeing AC not working when the comma is installed.

This has been traced back to OBD power being in use. This has been resolved by replacing the long USB C cable, but the correlation isn’t fully understood yet.

Steps to try:

  1. Rotate the connections on both sides of the lightning coupler
  2. Make sure everything is fully seated

If that doesn’t resolve it:

  • Replace the comma-supplied OBD-C cable with a 10ft USB-C (3.2 Gen 2x2) cable

I would suggest getting the replacement cable from amazon and testing with it prior to installing it under the panels in case the issue still exists and at that point I can send you a new coupler and the cable can be returned to amazon.

@UncleTony I saw you recommended FoF Liquid Crystal on Discord.

Any chance there's explanations about Liquid Crystal vs WD40 vs Notre Dame?

I haven't done any highway testing yet, but was thinking about what I should be looking for - I was also interested in all the new world model stuff.

I preferred FoF liquid crystal when I had my lightning. I know a lot of people prefer WD40 and Notre dame as well. It really just depends on what you like and the way the truck performs with the model.

It’s not really a power problem. The OBD power comma uses also has can in it and it adds a resistance to the setup from the OBD port. I would try unplugging it and see what it does. The comma will just take a little bit longer to boot. If that fixes the issue, I can suggest a new long cable
Thanks for redirecting me in the right direction. I was able to resolve this issue.

I initially tried unplugged the OBD cable from the harness but was seeing the same A/C issue.

Then I just swapped out the USB long cable with another (shorter) one that I had at home. Everything seems to be working as expected now!
