Where are the unsold new f150 lightnings

If you are using third party sites, pay attention to the MSRP. Some of the sites have the Lariat and Flash models listed as XLTs. If you limit your search to a certain model you may miss the one you are looking for.

The Flash I recently bought was listed as a XLT but I knew a XLT did not have a $75k MSRP

My 23 XLT had an MSRP of $78k. Features wise it’s basically a Lariat, just says XLT on the side.

I was looking at new F150 lightnings at a couple of local dealers in Arkansas. There were several unsold, then all of a sudden they all disappeared. Did ford but them back, or did they sell them at auction or what?

Fellow Arkansan here (Hot Springs) sorry your having trouble but it's more likely any inventory was sent to Ford dealers elsewhere. not hard to believe prices are higher in the bigger markets. Love my Lightning. hope you can find one.

Many websites will list VIN. For 2024 and 2025 you can determine model with the VIN:

First start with characters 5-7 (”series”)
W1B=Pro
W3L=XLT & Flash (the Flash is coded as the old XLT 312A package)
W5L=Lariat
W7L=Platinum

Then to distinguish XLT from Flash look at character 8 (“engine”)
"K" - Standard Range, 98 kWh battery, 48A charger (Pro and XLT).
"7" - Extended Range, 131 kWh battery, 48A charger (Flash, Lariat, Plat)
"U" - Extended Range, 123 kWh battery, 48A charger (‘25 job 2 Flash and fleet ER Pro)
"M" - Extended Range, 131 kWh battery, 80A charger (fleet Pro and fleet Flash)

And for giggles you con confirm year model with character 10:
N 2022
P 2023
R 2024
S 2025
T 2026

There are no 2026’s but some folks seem to think there are (or will be).

This will not work for 22-23’s, every trim has series code W1E and engine codes are different. But you can do some decoding with GVWR and engine code characters. EDIT: see next post for how to at least get battery size.

V = ER 131 kWh 80 amp OBC
L = SR 98 kWh 48 amp OBC

i bought a used one a week ago and honestly theres very few new one left. a lot of listings are fake. imo ford should ban dealerships doing bait and switch from using their names, but what do i know

One dealership has 7 used ones, and 5 new ones local to DC metro area (DC, MD, VA), but the new ones are not exactly 'bargains'...

Incorrectly cataloged inventory, this is an ICE F150.

I had to drive past at least 3 dealers in the Puget Sound area of Washington when I bought mine last month. And this is a pretty EV-dense area.
They all had one or none, vs the dealer I went to that had like 8.

There is a 22 mach-e at the local dealership in Bryson City NC. Probably has under 10 miles on it, just moving it around on their smallish lot. Don't know what they are asking for it. PM me if you want more info.
